Quicktime events. I hated them when I first met them in God of War on Playstation. I hate them now.
I hate them even more when they just appear randomly.
Also, anything in raids where the party is split/out of support range and one team is dependent on another's actions (like Atomos in CT or WoD)
I dislike mechanics that arbitrarily make the boss untargetable.
It makes sense for stuff like add phases and really involved mechanics like the trios in ultimate raids, but are just a source of frustration when there's really not much going on but they just don't let you hit the boss anyways.
The Nier raids in particular have a lot of those.
I use to hate this one till I found you can move exactly where you want if you look at the cursor above you. If you hit forward when it is rotating it will move in the direction pointed.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
Paralysis, most of them last way too long and it's just annoying.
Imo these things should be fast and punishing, not severely drawn out.
Color mechanics. Red/orange, purple/blue, green/brown spells death for me.
Also, this is long overdue but thank you devs for making mt gulg's floor so bright that the telegraphed lines might as well become one with it.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
Since ppl liked it so much they made the 3 headed fire chicken stage of this raid tier a nice shade of orange to go with those markers :P lol
Latency
...it has nothing to do with in-game mechanics...but it stops me sometimes from doing Mechanics Correctly because of what looks like and feels like Lag
Instant death mechanics that don't have a reasonable lead-up time giving an opportunity to counter them. Or alternately, fights being tuned such that someone dying to a mechanic will either snowball into a failure, or cause an instant wipe.
Example of trash: Titan landslides in EX. They go off much too quickly.
Example of gotchas done well: All of Rhalgar's fight.
Anything I have to dodge quickly. I have crappy reflexes, bad script memory, and bad ping. --> I'm actually partially serious on this. I get tired of being out of stuff only to be hit/killed by it. Add in poorly colored AOE markers/floor, such as the tigers in Aglaia....not a fun time for me.
I vote for forced-movement. I dislike running Alzadaal's Legacy because of the spin mechanic. I die something like 70% of the time on the second spin. If I can't force a server snapshot, it's game over for me.
