Ice, because it's a movement mess that doesn't allow any finesse to overcome it, at least with misdirection you can play against it.

It is not a mechanic it is an forced cutscene durign trials and such.
Very bright flashing light effects. Very hard to focus with them during fights.
Numbers mechanic in the Omega M & F savage fight.
Petition to have the Garlean gunblade & armour added in the game:

/petsize all small. Is your friend.
It'll shrink all those summoners and there giant bahamuts down to basically egi size..
It's a client side command so only affects your screen.
My peeve with vulnerability stacks is that they dont really punish you for making mistakes. what they do is punihs or strain your healer.. I think it'd be much better and fairer if those mechanics affected you. If every stack dropped your dps by 10-20% or something. or if your a healer reduced your heal potency by 10-20%...The stacking vuln down mechanic seems to be a step towards trying to get players to more consistently do fight mechanics as a stack applies when a player fails to avoid an avoidable attack. Though I've seen 4 player duties still cleared while the tank was sitting at 8 stacks. DR took it one step further with the twice come ruin debuff that just outright killed players if they failed 2 mechanics within the span of a minute.
the other issue witht hem is that they are a joke when you can eat 5-6 stacks and still sail through the encounter..
Twice come ruin i honesrly think shouldnt have been insta death it should just have been a high damage hit... but thats basically only because then it would have at least made those defensive essensces and lost actions more viable.. but popping an essence that gives you 80% more hp or reduces the damage you take by 60% or whatever it was. is useless when its just insta death anyway..

Orbs are mad fucked in this game. Basically you have to pretend every orb is like 1 second ahead of their visual position. The stupid orbs in the Nier raids.
I loved those when I was playing Nier: Automata, because evading/dodging around them felt like a real dance, and taking the damage from them when I got hit felt deserved.
But in the xiv raids, idk what exactly the issue is--janky hitboxes or my eternal ping issues or a lack of dodge/movement abilities that don't threaten to fling me into more bad--I get hit by them even if I don't see myself getting hit. And it just feels shitty, because from what I could tell, I was dancing. But from what my healers can tell, I've got two (or maybe three) left feet. ;-;
Mechanic like Cid orb before nerf or Seiryu tank swap. Basically any mechanic I have no influence on the outcome but still punish me.
Anything that involves the use of excessive degree of similarly bright colors (entire P3n/s fight, Mt.Gulg trash pulls and last boss, o4s black/whites), moving terrain (Zodiark spinning platform, I get disoriented and have to look away), and excessively long downtime phases (Ktisis 1st boss, Shisui last boss).
Oh yeah another one, not really a mechanic, but phases that heavily prone to trolls being put into MSQ/normal difficulty contents, like SoS' button spam. One player went afk or sleeps during QTE? Yeah, you're dead, and you have probably no way to find out who exactly failed that. Nald'thal's Tipped Balance raidwide is also included here but to a lesser extent because at least you can spot who's the offender.

Anything that runs me over...can guarantee if there is something like I am going to die!
Also platforms I have a tendency to backflip off them but they have got easier over the years![]()
Trio mechanics for how they break up the pace, tether mechanics for how finicky they can be, tower mechanics because DSR has like a million of them and that fight is driving me fucking insane can’t you tell?
I’d say my actual least favorite mechanics are ones with either forced or altered movement, like that one boss in Vanaspati. Not particularly hard, especially given how much time you have to adjust, just not fun.
