We understand, everyone loves new content, and it sells.
However, the community need SQ to take some time, step back, and polish some of our favorite older content.
Examples:
Reputation System / Custom Deliveries
- System was designed for a time when hard core players could grind for hours, if not days at something.
- It's not fun spending 3 months just to get X item you need for Y achievement.
- If grind 100% essential, add it to the FFXIV online store like EXP books.
Blue Mage
- Has largely been abandoned, with no QOL or content updates in roadmap.
- BLU is very popular; every day I see BLU players in PF working towards a spell.
Companion / Chocobo
- Abandoned, even though sees daily use
- We like bardings, but we would like to see our long time friend grow with us again. This has not happened since... lv50 / ARR.
Fishing
- Yes we get new fish, but what about meaningful content.
- FSH job questline is painful to the point of tears. This needs QOL badly
- We have a size system, but there is no competition for players to compare catches
- Reduce the number of baits. You've already made reusable lures useless, so just get rid of them. Save us the inventory space and you the database space.
- Goblin Jig is a good example. This lure does not catch anything useful.
Triple Triad
- Many cards are locked behind long, boring grinds that have nothing to do with Triple Triad. When people have to complete X dungeon 90+ times for a card, you can bet they will start hating playing. It's not even a game at that point.
Manderville Gold Saucer
- Another grind designed for a different time.
- I'd like a game dev to sit down and do some math.
Find the total number of MGP you'd need to buy 1X of every MGS prize.
Divide that by the average MGP a player earns in a week.
Tell us how many weeks we're expected to complete what is casual content.
Having 2-3 "wow amazing" prizes is important, but I still can't even afford the TT cards I need to finish my Triple Decker achievement series.
Chocobo racing
- No updates since it was released
Non Solo-able content
-Some content is old enough that it should a simple unsynch -> queue -> done
-Pool of Tribute is an example. I can easily solo the damage, deal damage, but when it hits the Quick Time event, game doesn't recognize there is only one player.
This means I instantly die, even though I've already cleared the content.
- Multiple solutions. Add the Trust system to Trials. Add Chocobo to completed trials.
ARR loot
All current content (6.0+) drops are done via chest
Please change ARR loot to be chest based.
ADS Illuminant, ADS frame - example
It is hard, if not impossible, to get a full 8 players together to get one person a chance for these housing items to drop.
All loot should be chest based. If it needs to be rare, make it rare in the chest.
