There is nothing your typical gamers loves more than to aggressively only care about video games. It took a sexual misconduct and harassment lawsuit by the state of California for WoW to "die".
Not the lack of development, over development and bloat of systems, constant redesign and scaling of systems, and generally bland gameplay loop that was on repeat for 7 years because it kept people running the hamster wheel.
It took a lawsuit from the state of California.
The state of WoW and its development had nothing to do with its decline.
Its not even that. This thread is just a standard WoW thread where "the game is bad and the devs are trash" that would be posted on the WoW forums, and draw a whole bunch of people into it for your viewing pleasure so make sure you bring your popcorn.
Also as a side comment since it was brought up, Brack wasn't wrong. How many months was it for WoW classic to die, again? The thing that everyone oh so badly wanted.

I meant that in a way that a sexual harassment lawsuit is not the tipping point for a frustratingly high number of gamers. They dont give a shit about that. You only need to look to sony's current behavior to see that the majority of people dont give a shit about that because that's who sony is trying to cater to at the moment. Its not even that. It was for 3 of the largest influencers in the WoW community. 1 of them bringing in how many new players to FFXIV when he came to WoW?I meant that in a way that a sexual harassment lawsuit is not the tipping point for a frustratingly high number of gamers. While that is nice promotion for FF14, WoW is not going to struggle because of that. WoW's star has been on the decline before those reports were made public.
WoW wasn't struggling before it either. It isn't the 10 Million active players it was in 2008, 13 years ago, backed by the Warcraft franchise storyline and Arthas, but it wasn't a financially dead game it was very, very successful. Even BFA was a very, very successful expansion for Activision-Blizzard. Nor was it a socially dead game given the esports growth that occured with the MDI, or with the World First Race.

.....did we play the same expansion? The one that gave us warfronts? The lame and interminable war campaign? Mission tables? A return to the idiotic and threadbare 'Me orc me no like human orc smash" garbage? A lame, tacky, pathetic ending ripped off from Lord of the Rings?Even BFA was a very, very successful expansion for Activision-Blizzard.
That BFA?

Oh how wrong you are.....those incidents went a long way to forever tainting their brand.I meant that in a way that a sexual harassment lawsuit is not the tipping point for a frustratingly high number of gamers.
Agreed. Willing to bet more than half the things in my house are made with Chinese child slave labor. Not going to bat an eye at a videogame company getting handsy with the female staff. I quit WoW because they ruined what I enjoyed in it beyond repair.I meant that in a way that a sexual harassment lawsuit is not the tipping point for a frustratingly high number of gamers.
