Going for a just barely viable product is disappointingly common for big publishers. We dont need to look far for that either, babylon's fall is the best example.

Corporate greed of SE is something that worries me about the future of FF14 as well. With the CEO's want to get into NFTs and the selling of some of their highest profile IPs for said NFTs I have a feeling that the profits from FF14 are being funneled into projects that are doomed to fail. Like Saraide said, Babylon's Fall is a great example of this greed.

Good? I spent months with a sound bug, along with a bunch of other people, and they only fixed it after I had finished the main story. Didn't they see that when they asked for more time to "polish the game"?

The grand finale of the story we've been doing for years is a huge fanservice for Emet, a bunch of cute scenes, the scions dying again, and a boss we've never heard of. Seriously, congratulations to whoever managed to cry with this fairy tale, you made whoever wrote this very happy, since there were scenes that said "please cry here".

It was supposed to end the story of Hydaelin and Zoldiark, but in the end, Hydaelin seemed like a stupid lunatic, and Zoldiark just a puppet. We don't even get to see his real personality.

Didn't anyone tell the sound team that a song with lyrics is NEVER used in an MMORPG map? How many years have they been making MMORPGs to make such a grotesque mistake?

Three years of promising to fix races from the past expansion, and they came with wigs and mega foreheads.

It's been a while since they even paid attention to the old, well-established races in the game. Will anyone here tell me that it makes sense to take off miqo'te's ear on the calfskin cap?

A huge wave of bots roam the servers. I can no longer sell anything on the market board, as the price simply drops by half on the same day. But their priority is to ban streamers who are using mods.

Its not even that. This thread is just a standard WoW thread where "the game is bad and the devs are trash" that would be posted on the WoW forums, and draw a whole bunch of people into it for your viewing pleasure so make sure you bring your popcorn.

Also as a side comment since it was brought up, Brack wasn't wrong. How many months was it for WoW classic to die, again? The thing that everyone oh so badly wanted.

I meant that in a way that a sexual harassment lawsuit is not the tipping point for a frustratingly high number of gamers. They dont give a shit about that. You only need to look to sony's current behavior to see that the majority of people dont give a shit about that because that's who sony is trying to cater to at the moment.

WoW took a fist to the chin because it slowly turned itself into a glorified KMMO and abandoned anyone who fell behind. M+, borrowed power, system upon system with no safety nets, alt mechanics or catchup, etc.

Lets not even get into how absolutely integral to modern WoW boosting and RMT with the token is.

None of these other reasons did anything to WoW, every single thing you mentioned existed since vanilla.

Tie all this together with the fact that most of WoW's content just isn't very good anymore outside of their major raid releases and that's that.

I'd imagine XIV's problems have precious little to do with anything balance related. XIV just needs some midcore content and to stop buckling EVERYTHING to the MSQ. I love the MSQ, we all do, it revived FF and it's the biggest part of the game but it needs to stop being this monolith that chains everything in the game down.
