Near the 230 bids people will hoard the placard to be the 234th bidder and you are back to the old system, except significantly higher costs.

Also, this system will make it impossible for most people to buy a house since only those with a lot of gil have a chance. Breaking the balance towards newer players.

This system is not a solution.

They instead could have simply made a much higher variety in costs for houses so large ones have 3 prices: 500m, 400m, 300m, medium go below that with 200m, 100m, 50m, and small ones go like 30m, 20m, 10m, 5m, and 3m. This price diffirence generaly makes the more expensive option better because less people will be within that range. There is no need for a relatively new player to be able to buy a large house fast. A small one would already do fine, even for FCs (for FCs it barely matters unless you are growing unions or other things for the entire FC, which basicly doesnt happen since selling it and keeping it for yourself is much more beneficial).

You can't wait for the last seconds because you dont know when the auction will end, the timer is just an estimate as it was with the old timer, maybe that was unclear.

And again, this is not a replacement, the lottery will still be in place, people with a lot of money will try the auction, and others can join the lottery.
and even if someone bids 999 million, at least the gil is out of the system.
