We just scored our first FC house (ever), a Medium so we are all good as it were.

I see a few posts about people wanting private houses for RP events understandably, others stating they cant use Apartments due to small sizes.

If they made ... Larger privately owned apartments would that not technically serve the required purpose of an instanced housing partition for that while still preserving whats already there?

Oh obviously, but if we want the best of both worlds without losing whats already there, it's a start, is it not?

Larger apartments and/or having the ability to upgrade current apartments have both been suggested by the fans for a while now as a solution to the housing problem but for some reason the devs either can't or don't want to implement it. :/

I can only assume because of the engine and how the game is coded, any larger changes on core game systems are very time consuming to implement.
I would have a lot of good ideas mostly "quality of life" changes to implement, but maybe they are unwilling to add them because of the amount of work, or they think it is fine as it is.

They keep mimicking the same bird song: hardware they don't have to support expanding structure. It's also the same song we hear - EVERY.SINGLE.EXPANSION.

As did we ironically, the medium we won for our first FC house - All of the gil went into Furnishing it instead.

I can't complain, it was AWESOME. lol

Luxury sized apartments with a garden balcony would be a great idea and solve a ton of issues. But undoubtedly they'll keep churning out Housing Wards instead.
