[SPOILERS] I'd like to offer some feedback on The Moon...

Alright, I warned for spoilers. So here we go...

This is honestly very simply feedback, but I would just like to be able to "fix" the moon up a bit. That is, be able to perhaps "fill in" that massive, gaping hole in the middle of the zone.

    My personal suggestion?

Replace it with a "biome" of some kind, with a garden in the center. Perhaps created by the Loporitts, or perhaps by Hydaelyn, Meteion, or even an uncorrupted Zodiark.

That last one may seem a bit of a stretch, but actually I think is the most compelling. Maybe we finally "meet" the remnants of Zodiark, that much like Hydaelyn represents a kind, nurturing mother, Zodiark is more of a "stern, protective father", who believed the inhabitants of the Ancients' world were too weak to stand a chance against the End of Days. Content to see you've proven yourself capable of confronting the threat head-on, he hopes you will continue to grow into a warrior of even greater, cosmic power.

Perhaps recognizing Hydaelyn's power is effectively spent, in recognition of her as an equal, he creates a garden in place of his shattered prison, that her soul might find rest looking out over the world she fought to save. Maybe even hint that Meteion's spirit might come to rest there, as well.

Heck, maybe there's even some tiny reservoir of aether left there, that they still "live" as spirits, but no longer with the power to actively aid us anymore? Or it can just bring a sense of closure to their stories.

Either way, I just feel like the Moon SHOULD be a really cool place, but that gaping hole filled with evil-looking energy just kinda kills the vibe.

The things IMO atm I'd like on the moon are the classic FFIV battle theme to play everywhere on the moon. Not just in the Loporrit area and for them to make Smileton a new housing area with a layout just like the one we see in the duty instance... >.>

Some people think that that area will be the next Deep Dungeon. Maybe for levels 71 to 90, although that would mean you have to defeat Zodiark first to unlock it.

No different from unlocking HoH which required progression into the Ruby Sea portion of the MSQ.

You'll have to shout quite loudly; the sound doesn't carry very well from up there...

But seriously, they can't just add something with a walkable surface there. They can change how it looks but solid ground has to be in the same places for everyone.

For comparison via New Game Plus, have a look at Alexander before/after it emerges from the bubble – there are rocks in the places where it will emerge, to maintain the same surface – or the final path that manifests in Endwalker. Because you don't get access to the area until the path forms, at a story level, they've simply made it there but invisible at a zone design level. Conversely, the Firmament reconstruction progressed at a world level so the ground structure changed and newer bits became accessible for everyone together.

They could have the evil red glow fade over time, but that's about it. The inaccessible crater has to remain.

Hmm, interesting point, I hadn't really considered that.

Would it not work, if you simply had a "biome" around that area? That if you're near a player who hasn't progressed that far, you simply "disappear" once you enter said biome?

I can't help but kind of feel like the Moon is kind of a let-down. I suppose it was a deliberate bait-and-switch for Ultima Thule, but particularly with the Loporitts still up there, I feel like it would be cool just to have it a *bit* more pleasant to revisit.

It's definitely a bit desolate right now. The whole area could use some love in general, especially considering how massive it is yet there's just very little out there.

Moons are kinda known for lots of nothing going on.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.

Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.

I'd definitely love to see more love for the Moon. It's kind of an unsettling place to visit with the massive, evil-looking crater there.

Would be cool to revamp it, and just have the "entrance" for the fight moved to maybe speaking with one of the NPC's letting you "relive the memory" of it.
