Square Enix just needs to redo housing in general. This system isn't working, we've seen plots with 300 plus people bidding.

Unless they can add a house for every single player and FC people will be upset.

Plus Yoshi-p don't get me wrong, when I see my neighbors it's cool but let me tell you what, I almost never see my neighbors, this feature can go.

All I want is better and more for FFXIV.

So I know people tell you SE listens to players. This has been a major issue for 8 years. They can't or won't fix it. 8 years is just to long to think they will change their minds.



It also doesn't help the dev team has a very dedicated defence force. They blame players and say take an apartment. So even though it looks like you have a lot of people upset. They are very comfortable with that defence base. When the game is literally unplayable it is till the players fault.

8 years as Moonlite said. Also, they don't check the forums and if they do it's the Japanese section. They don't give two shits about foreign players unless they're doing some streamer community thing where they bring a handful of western streams on to talk with. Otherwise, no.

Just make housing instanced.
There's already community chocobo stables at the apartments and most FC's have one. Let people plop a garden plot in their house somewhere and you'll make everyone happy. I doubt most people would mourn the loss of having a front lawn or getting to live in a giant Paissa that much if it meant having the internal building space of a large.
In the very least let people expand the size of apartments. They're all instanced and don't take up server load unless somebody is in them unlike persistent housing wards.

For God's sake, Elder Scrolls Online came out within a year of ARR and not only do they just HAND players a free player home (Albeit a very tiny one) after doing a tutorial on house ownership, everyone can buy numerous houses.
Even New World had better housing infrastructure than this.
SWTOR has instanced housing. I play that game once or twice a year and my apartment is always there. Because it's instanced. When I'm not playing it does nothing to their server.
Stop being stubborn Square Enix. The housing ward system worked fine when it was only for FC's to purchase land. There was more than enough plots.
You designed a housing system around free company plots, said you'd do something different for individuals, and then didn't even bother trying. Just made half assed FC room sized apartments and called it a day.
You now have Free Companies that can't get medium and large houses (Also, REALLY unfair that you let the richest FC's pump in multiple bids on a house between multiple members to increase their odds. How exactly is that fair?)
Small plots in FC wards that most of them don't even want to touch going to waste
4 pre-existing housing districts that were already to bloated to capacity that the FC/Personal housing split didn't even matter because most of those FC wards have been competing for plots against single players for years anyway and only got a chance in this round to bid on the scrapes left by people who moved to Emperyum last time.
it's all just a colossal mess.

You can sit there and patch holes in your dam. But eventually you need to come to terms with the fact that you just need to build a new dam before your town gets flooded.
Town is already flooded by the way. Maybe build a better damn for next time.

Definitely agree with this. An overhaul is long overdue.
