And I really don't see why both systems can't coexist. You already can own a house, apartment and FC room at the same time. Whats one more?
Did you only read my first sentence and just make an assumption of my entire post?

    1. I'm fore Instanced Housing. +1 instanced housing.

    2. My remark to more giving us wards is the known fact that Yoshi-P is completely against instanced housing because he wants his "social neighborhood housing" fiesta, hence my until they can give every paying customer that very experience, he claims to envision it to be, by having enough plots for all wishing to have one, they should just give us instanced housing as band aid, until they can actually proper bear said envisioned experience to the players.

    3. In the same post I also suggested that it would be nice to give smaller plots the means to be upgraded in some fashion or comparable way, thus turning small plots desirable. To elaborate, it would simply be by giving small plots investment upgrades to give them either more floors and increase their item limit to comparable measures of Medium and Large houses. This obviously means that a Medium plot could have investment into becoming comparable to Large plot as well, similar item limit and floor increases. For the actual plot size, if there are specific limits, it could of course simply be it turning into a vertical taller small building, in a funny fashion.

    4. Seems like people here on forums are ample to quickly attack someone without reading between the lines, or maybe not many know of Yoshi-P's rather bad take on housing in general? AKA him being against instanced housing because he wants the "neighborhood feels".

    5. Just to emphasize +1 Instance housing. As long they(ff14 devs) can't give us all the housing experience in the fashion they(Yoshi-P) envision, with their lofty desire for social neighborhoods, they should simply give us instanced housing even if they(Yoshi-P) is completely against it.

The developers designed housing to be a prestige reward and that it would be popular social spaces. In practice it was neither.

I keep seeing that remark oft repeated. When was the last time he expressed that opinion? I don't recall anything about it since Shadowbringers' released. Certainly not since the pandemic started.

If they truly believed that the wards were a viable social space I would think they would have added more features to make it that much attractive for that purpose and yet... nothing. Heck if you look at the wards attached to the starter cities you can see parts that look like airship terminals. Adding subdivisions and wards further divided the population and the severe supply shortage has made it near impossible for friends to live near each other. The darker side of the shortage is that it has been an absolute gift to the RMT crowd.

I'm going to go out on a limb and believe that he understands that now and have every reason in the book to explore alternatives. Unfortunately it's a very complicated feature to do right. Their existing instancing server can barely handle the load when enough people start using housing. I was getting the "Due to extreme load you cannot leave this area" error the night round two resolved.

I want to believe that they're working on that alternative. My only hope is that CB3 tends to be very tight-lipped about new features until they know it's ready for release. My suspicion is that Sanctuaries is a field test for a new instancing system.

That is an interesting take on Island Sanctuaries and one which I had not considered. Thanks for suggesting that. You have given me something to ponder...
