Your best bet is use all your shield skill and mostly all your glad skill when you start adding other job skill they are not 100% effective unless you on that job. [Comment deleted by Moderator]

Raging and Ferocity have zero stam usage so you can pop out that threat when ever you feel like every 30sec/1min so atm keeping those on your bars specially with AoE tanking or Uraeus tanking is very helpful. Saying this more for others who dont have a masochistic personality to lvl all classes to 40+ lol. Easier to grab raging / fero for the more time-restricted tanksRaging Strike 2 and Ferocity 2 *Gives burst aggro just from activating them, but I hardly ever have it up on bars*
Sentinel *Def boost and enimity loss slow down. low cool down, adds a little threat like any other ability just from activating*
Siphon MP *Again, optional, hardly have to use*
Yes, Siphon TP does work on NMs, and though I hardly use it, ill put it on my bar if I feel that getting Incap is more important.
Sentinel is one of our highest threat generators atm purely from a Glad based ability stand point, saying a little threat is a lil understated just wanted to make sure others knew.
Siphon TP will work but Siphon MP / Stygian Spikes will not work on NMs at least currently(might change with new NMs/content!) so don't waste AP if you're already hurting on it, unless you have reg mobs to be your MP bitch while tanking the NM(s)
This isn't really directed at you since you have plenty of classes abilities so you losing hate while single tanking should never happen to begin with. This is more targeted for the newer tanks who don't have as wide a range of abilities to choose from.
Everything else you said I'd agree with aside from you doing BR's unless you are doing it solo or you have offtanks in case your BR takes forever. I'm used to solo tanking all the NMs atm.
Plus atm lets be honest none of the NM's are actually hard to tank currently. Was a bit sad after killing them. I leveled my glad to 50 before the SP changes/during the VIT/MND change hence why my shield is lower(idea of choosing to lvl your shield OR sword while sping was the gayest concept ever btw). Anyways I figured I'd have to haul ass to get deflection cuz the NMs would be hard but I was wrong and that made it harder to keep playing rofl.

Not sure if this was mentioned (so much good advice already was), but I like having Flashfreeze on my bar for Great Buffalo since it has a pretty high chance of giving him the incapacitation effect which instantly downs him. Its a nice counter to sonorous blast.

oh nice, didnt see it in patch MY B, ty sir
This is great to know.
Just wanted to add that Blindside is another one of those abilities to clump up with Ferocity and Raging Strike, in terms of spike enmity with little/no stamina. If you are hurting for space, I'd recommend dropping it (as you gain no bonus from it other than the quick enmity boost), but if you've got the AP...
I also wanted to second what Wind said about Sentinel. The ability is very nice for maintaining enmity. I originally tried saving it as a panic button, but with the low cooldown and the current lack of necessity in having a panic button... i just try to use it whenever it is up.
And Jarlpain, I don't care how valid your point is or whatever, but please at least consider using some punctuation in your posts. It makes it far easier to read and process. Or you two could just bring it elsewhere, we almost had a solid, informative thread going...
yea sentinel is really nice, it mitigates a really decent amount of damage too

Funny thing is, Siphon MP works on Goblin and Dodore minions at this time. Guess now NMs do too, havent seen it yet though. Raging and Ferocity does help, but again, I got too many more useful abilities to place up on bars and I hardly need to have any of the free burst aggro. We normally run with just 2 or 3 mages, most of the time too. Normally I tank everything by myself practically anyway, but it helps the mages out if I let another gladiator tank take some aggro. I generate too much threat that its hard for the off tanks to take any off of me. That and we have no mage with both sac 3 and cure 3 atm. Goblins and Dodore is easy to solo tank. Goats not so much without a mage or two with both. Least on goblins and Dodore I can keep my emulate up for bout 55 seconds and my cooldown for it is about 1 min 10 seconds. This is with Transcendence up.
Seriously wish I could have another four maybe six ability points. Maybe more trait points too. Would be nice. Who knows maybe SE will put in some sorta merit system, eventually.
Again I dont like doing BRs, theirs really no need for a gladiator to do them. Its more beneficial to use Disorient and on full attack BRs to use Luminous spire just before they set off a BR to help the mages with their magic bursts.

Flashfreeze on Ram huh? Ima try that tonight, I knew I noticed something weird when one of the mages said he would be using it.

Drama aside, keep in mind you can use WS during a BR and still get a damage bonus. So as a Glad, you don't necessarily have to be in the BR rotation to be able to do decent damage with it. In fact you can usually get 2 sometimes 3 WS's off during a BR for a damage bonus if you're out of the rotation.

Thanks for cleaning up this thread. I really appreciate it.
I haven't been on much since the earthquake/tsunami since I live here in Japan but things should be getting smoother and I'll participate more in the near future.
Please keep the constructive conversation flowing~
