Ideas for Instanced Housing!!

TL;DR Instanced housing with the ability to upgrade your house would be amazing!

Instanced housing could be AMAZING! The idea for it is that it would be attached to the current areas and/or any major cities in an expansion (Sharlayan housing!?). An NPC at the entrance or in a special little alcove/building that lets you ride a boat, or airship travel to it. Boat for cities where there's water, and airship for the others. It could be an island outside the current housing area. Since it would be instanced, this would work for both personal and FC housing. The idea here is that it would work similar to apartments. And since it's instanced why couldn't one person have say, one house in every city? Wouldn't that be amazing? Think of all the decorating! (I believe SWTOR does this and I think it is quite cool, but theirs is more of a condo/penthouse situation. Upgradeable apartments would also be really cool now that I think about it.)

This idea is something we came up with to combat the current exclusivity of the housing. It would give the people who have WAY too much gil, more than they can spend, something to spend it all on! Furniture would sell a lot again and I think that would revitalize the crafting community!

Another bonus to this idea is that if you have neighbors who have decorating tastes that kind of clash with yours, you wouldn't have to look at anyone else's house! AND you wouldn't have to worry about how other people feel about YOUR decorating style! Isn't that nice?

As for the housing itself and plot sizes, I think it would be really cool if you could buy a small, and then upgrade to medium, and then upgrade again to large. Upgrading your instanced house would be a lot easier than moving in my opinion. But why stop there, what about MEGA MANSIONS?! The twin's parents house looks so huge and awesome, I would totally love to have a house like that! Think of the awesome parties!

We could also have way bigger yards with this idea! A lot of yards are cramped because people want a lot of big decorations, but even the large plots don't have much yard space for some of the stuff we can get.

Instanced housing could be SO good! And if someone wants to work up an exorbitant amount of gil and get an instanced house in every city AND fully decorate them all, why not? That would make for so much more gameplay! Especially if there was quests or tasks involved with upgrading the instanced house.

Anyway these are just ideas! Going through the plots today to try yet again to get an FC house in Ishgard, the wards are MOSTLY empty. Like 90% empty. Everyone just wants a large, now they're bidding on some mediums but I see a ton of smalls and mediums with 0 participants. This is an actual problem, and I have known people who have quit the game over not being able to get a large plot. Instanced housing would solve SO many problems!

At this point. I'd say if you want the devs to consider instanced housing rather than say how you want it to operate in game. Draw up a logistical plan for them that covers the logistics of adding the feature including acquisition of hardware, installation and shipping costs, downtime, labor hours paid, etc...

Nobody answers if the houses will have an exterior, where they'd be, what they'd be good for. Will they just be in the void behind a door? A gate that leads to a secluded cottage on a hill with a seaside view?

At no point did I see a section specific for housing. It's my first time using these forums and I only saw a section for Japanese and English and another section, and each section had 3 in it and they were like general discussion, bug reports and letters from the producer. I don't know if my browser did something weird at the time or what, I restarted my browser and there are other options there, so thanks for the heads up! I'll repost there!

Everytime there is a Housing Auction these style threads pop-up, almost like people lose their bid, and want a easier time at it.

You say that very negatively like people shouldn't want an easier time getting a house or something, I don't understand. But yeah people get very upset when they can't get one, I've had friends quit the game over it, as I said before.

But, to me, if housing was made too easy, it would devalue the feeling of achievement that comes when you or your FC does happen to win the Auction.

I understand, people wanting a house, and wanting an easier way about getting one. But to me, if they where to make Instanced Housing, it would render peoples work to make their home/yard look amazing, completely useless.

Maybe if they where to enlarge the housing maps, or make instanced homes completely separate from non-instanced homes, that might work.

Yeah, my idea was it would be separate but that maybe the way you get to it is an NPC in the housing wards and the city, like how you can go to and from the main city and other wards.

I don't think they should remove the houses that are there currently and change to instanced housing, I was just thinking if they ALSO had instanced housing for people who want an FC house, or a personal house and can't get one now, or for people who want more houses, it would be a nice thing to have.
There are people who make alts on different servers specifically to get houses and then they barely play those characters and just log in once a month in order to keep it, just because they like decorating. It would be very nice if people like that weren't preventing others from having a house at all, which is the current situation, via instanced housing they could have multiple houses and be happy lol. Also a lot of people don't really care about the neighborhood aspect of the housing, they just want a house to decorate and hang out in, and instanced housing would be great for those folks. I myself like the neighborhoods but I never see anyone when I am outside of my personal or someone else's, so what's the point lol. My idea was if instanced housing did become a thing, then maybe we could have one per city per character. Like how SWTOR and I think ESO do it.

I also feel like the main achievement in getting a house is just getting the gil for it, which I have more than enough for any large plot. Actually obtaining it is just RNG. Before it was more a matter of who can click the fastest lol. And before THAT, it was who got there first. I do think having a house with the current system would still be desired and would still be a "cool factor" thing though.

The current housing situation isn't designed for a game with a large playerbase and I think if they continuously add new wards that isn't sustainable. But they clearly want it available for everyone since they DO keep adding new wards.
