Solution to the Housing Problem: Instanced Housing!

So the idea is that everyone would be able to get their own instanced housing plot, in varying sizes, so housing is not a matter of luck but just something you save up gil for and you are guaranteed to be able to get your own house of any size you like if you spend enough time! Wouldn't this be a great idea and solve the limited housing problem?

While I agree that housing shouldn't be so limited, I do feel like that it should be something worked towards. Saving up your gil to get a house, crafting or buying and selling to get the things you want (not need) is a good thing.

If you want the new PVP gear, guess what... you need to grind for it.. Want that Eureka mount? Guess what you need to grind for it.. Want that nice Relic weapon to complete your outfit.. guess what... you guessed it! You have to grind for it!

Yes, SE needs to open up MORE housing, they need to stop with the FC wards for all but 6 wards, they need to open up districts in the different places where housing would be a nice option. I can see so many places where a housing district would fit into the story and add housing to the market. They need to do that, but they DO NOT need to just give everyone a house. That is insane. Life doesn't come with a bow on it, even in a make believe game. One MUST have some skin into it to make it worth something.

Did you even read the OP's first sentence? There was nothing at all mentioned about having a free house, just that they change it to instanced housing instead of the crap we have had. They clearly said you save up the gil for the house type you want to buy, not get it for free.

And while we are at it, why are you wanting to keep an existing system that is broken, aged, technologically taxing on servers and makes no sense at all? Instancing makes so much more sense. Stop trying to improve a turd by making a bigger pile.

As far as a broken system. It's not broken, or over taxing the severs to our knowledge. Instance housing would cause server strain just like our current wards.

If SE added more housing districts, wards, plots then I am sure everyone wouldn't be wanting instance housing. The bottom line is everyone wants the ability to get a house and right now they can't. It's got nothing to do with whether it's instance or not, it's a supply and demand feature.

Can't you think of at least six places that would make great housing districts in the story? I can. I think they just need to add more as the story progresses and that would solve their problems. Instance housing like Apartments and FC rooms aren't as nice as a ward is in my opinion.. Now, maybe a mix of them both.. Make apartments so they can have a garden, that might solve some of the issues with people wanting instance housings, while keeping the wards.

Different levels of Apartments, different levels of plots.. a combination of both would work out and help everyone.. but doing away with the wards in my opinion is a bad thing.

It is actually very taxing. Yoshi-P has repeatedly stated that more hardware is need to expand this, right along with the same sentiments every expansion they have put out since FFXIV. It's the reason why we can't have nice things - more storage, more glamour storage, more housing, more this and that. The ONLY reason we have housing in its current state is two reasons:

- Yoshi-P like the neighborhood feeling and doesn't want to get rid of that, even though I have been subbed for over 2300 days, and had a house since Shirogane Extreme, I have yet to see a neighbor. At my house, my FC house, or any of my friends' houses.
- The original set up was intended for Free Companies, because housing was originally only designed for that purpose. When they included personal housing, this was the major downfall they have experienced since that day.

The benefits of instancing, I have outlined already a few times the benefits and how it could work with an existing system with migration, ward and neighborhood feelings included, just for Yoshi-P's pride.

Instancing is the smartest way to ever build something this large - that's been proven in so many ways, with so many games. It's not near as taxing when you can actually reduce the numbers of how many times we already enter an instanced area just in housing.

The only reason we are where we are, is the director's pride. That's it.

That already takes place in housing. You make it sound like we are asking to turn this into a solo player game and over-exaggerating the issue.

What if I want to live as a hermit in my own isolated house? What if I don't want to be part of a neighborhood (implying this even exists lol lmao everyone is just in their own little space never interacting with eachother). Why is that a problem?
