If you want people who (presumably) love the game and want to talk about the problems more than the good parts to try and make it better, that is the forums.

I am not even going to disagree with you. The subreddits for this game are generally much less toxic that the official forum. Sad.

It is a different kind of toxicity on the reddit. It can be just as much of an echo chamber as you might think the forums can be.

If you consider it "toxic" to talk about places the game sorely needs improvements or changes in, in a constructive and politely critiquing manner, then you're honestly the toxic one in the equation.

The fact of the matter is this. The vast majority of complaints on these forums are so petty and so tiny. I think a lot people playing this game don't know what a bad mmo actually is.

I guess an entire role getting gutted and ignored is petty and tiny. I guess a race waiting 3 years for new hairs only to get 6 hairs that cut off their racial features is petty and tiny. I guess losing out on an entire dungeons worth of gear, most gear in a new expansion being reused and undyable, and almost every job being simplified is petty and tiny... Totally no problems here keep moving on.

As for toxicity, all i can say is i personally find the forums much better than reddit, where when i give constructive criticism im met with racial and homophobic slurs, and people who stalk me and make alt accounts just to harass me and be homophobic/sexist because i dare criticize this amazing game.

I have no idea what you are talking about with the first bit. I am casual, after all. I also am still probably new enough to not care, at all, about reused gear and if something is undyable I either wear it as is, or find something else. Quite petty and also tiny I would say.

I would be lying if I said I had heard zero complaints of jobs being "dumbed down" in game. But Ive also heard plenty of people saying "oh yeah I like the new AST for Endwalker" or more recently, SAM lost an ability or something? IDK, but again enough people Ive talked to in game who either didnt know about this or did not care, that im gonna go ahead and slide this one over to tiny and petty too.

Recycled arguments deserve recycled refutations.

But feel free to ignore the evidence, the logs, posted by healer mains showing that they spend 60%+ of their time casting Glare/Broil/Malefic/Dosis in Savage, and consequently, that healers spend even more time wearing out the 1 key on their keyboards in everything below Savage. And go ahead and ignore the videos of P1S and P2S being cleared without any healers at all. And dismiss the facts that healers used to be more complex, and have less downtime, in ARR and HW, and have been considerably and continually simplified and dumbed down every expansion since.

After all, that might get in the way of the fun of knocking down ignorant strawman versions of healer arguments.

A good skill in life that most people have usually learned by the time they're in their teens is that when a large contingency of people have concerns towards anything, you should be respectful and at least try to make something of an attempt to understand and grasp their concerns instead of just bullheadedly coming up with your own assertions of what you think they want. You should apply for a job at CBUIII, probably working for the job design team - this level of arrogant and dismissive disrespect towards healers is exactly the type of person they're looking for and is in line with their continual neglect and treatment of healer players. As a healer main myself I saw no arrogance or disrespect in that post you quoted. You chose to see it that way. Plain n simple. You're the one being condescending tbf.

(Also there are folks out there that just want green dps sticks, may not be alot but they do exist). Also consider that they never said ALL healers want as such. No need to be fired up about a small post like that
