In my experience, happy people don't drop by the forums most of the time. It's usually when an issue gets so bad, that they need to see what other people are saying -- to make sure they're not alone in feeling that way -- that they visit and commiserate among other unhappy people. I'm actually quite happy most of the time, but if you went off my posts you'd think I was just this ball of homeless, frustrated rage.
Take it with a grain of salt! And maybe just stay off of the forums if you're happy with the state of the game.

My favorite part of the forums are the group of people insisting that you aren't allowed to complain about the game and saying the forum is an echochamber of FFXIV zealots.... in the midst of complaint thread after complaint thread.

Yeah, there's a lot of people who troll or are overly negative but you'll find them literally on any public forum or social media site.

The forum is a place to raise issues with the game. You'll see fluff posts for dev headpats on occasion but most of the time, it's a place to debate or argue with others about stuff relating to the game....which I don't necessarily see an issue with. Things can't be good 100% of the time...there's enough of forcing people to be happy in game when you even breathe that you don't like a certain piece of content and get reported over it. Here, it's more tolerated to speak your mind but prepare to back up your opinions.

If you don't want to see post after post of people raising criticism towards the game, the forum won't be the place for you. You can try Amino....or I'm sure there's some discord server for just happy posts.

If someone isn't enjoying a game but keep playing it then I do kinda question what the hell they're doing.
Some people here just seem miserable all the time, what was the definition of insanity again ( but not really )?
Maybe if you've tried to enjoy something for a really long time but it fails every time it's just time to move on.
WoW has this too with a lot of WoW players who are stuck in this endless cycle, it's like an unhealthy obsession.
I dunno if people realize this but they have no obligation to play a game, if they're not enjoying something and it just makes them unhappy they can quit.

It also just gets tiresome with the same people creating such a negative atmosphere and spam creating threads over and over again.
Even for genuine feedback it actually makes it more difficult to have genuine conversations about that because so much just ends up being the same repeated negativity for the sake of negativity.
It's hard to get devs to take it seriously when it's just constant screeching about how everything is the worst thing that has ever been created and how the devs are incompetent and broke into your house and pooped on your bed.
There's a sea that some people have created of it that you'd have to wade through in order to get to some even remotely helpful feedback.

I also think these people believe they're more common than they actually are.
Even on this forum that is such a cesspool you'll still see positive comments with more updoots in a lot of these threads at the start, people who are enjoying the game just simply are going to be way less likely to spend the energy taking to the forums to get into e-fights and surround themselves with this.
So it just becomes a hateful circle of the same people over and over again who reinforce each other and end up believing they're like this vanguard of the community that have the community behind them.

So we started an FC, and we are genuinly happy and excited to play the game.

On forums it's all doom and gloom. We are having fun. Why doesn't the ffxiv forum community reflect that.

Overall, this is a great expansion. Came back did ARR, so much better, do the rest.

It's a game, have fun. I love you all!

This is a form of toxic positivity, one that you are probably not even aware about. Games are not either perfect or complete garbage. There are going to be things that you like and things that you dont like. The forum is here to give voice to your grievances, in an ideal scenario the devs would take notice of it aswell. People complaining about the game on its forum do not hate it. The opposite is true because if they really hated the game then they would just stop bothering and leave.

In the forum of another game i played for a long time threads like this would be deleted very quickly as meta discussions are never productive. They're just (thinly) veiled insults most of the time and i suspect the same is true for this thread even if OP isnt intending it to be.

Oh and as an update? Every single OCE server has had queues tonight. I know. I checked.

To say I am pleased is an understatement...I am DELIGHTED, especially in light of a comment a little while back....that OCE was a "failed experiment".

Oh ye of little faith....

So Id say a lot of people are very, very happy.
