Yep, positivity to the point of downvote bombing anyone who disagrees with you at times. It's a much happier and nicer place. We achieve progress through drowning out any criticism or negative commentary, after all.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
The forum is mostly a tiny amount of constructive feedback about the game and the rest is mostly just people whining about things they feel is inconvenient to them personally, people insulting the devs, game, players for various reasons, and trolls. The latter part being the noisiest people in general when it comes to anything because they're normally small in comparison to the entire population they want to represent and think that being as loud as possible makes them look bigger. And when people start poking logic holes in their statements or arguments they get accused of being a "white knight" while the maker of the argument tries to play the victim card.
However the forum is also a tiny part of the game population. A majority of the people playing the game are happy and enjoy it. Otherwise they wouldn't be playing and for most that are enjoying a game they don't have a need to look for a game forum unless they're trying to find info and having no luck with search engines like google.
Ok hear me out. If everyone was 100% happy with the game, what would we talk about on the forums? Just constantly talking about how much we love everything in the game and posting pictures of our characters?
Idk about you but one of the things I learned in EW is that you can't be happy all the time and everything can't be perfect. If we didn't have any criticism about the game and the game was perfect, then eventually it would stagnate and die out because we'd get so bored with everything being great all the time.
So see? It's GOOD that we are talking about things we don't like. The forums need the criticism, otherwise people would get bored of the 5 millionth post about what a great job the devs are doing.
I'm happy with the game. Yeah, it's got its flaws here and there, but I'm pretty much still content.
Just...healers need fixing...and Tanks need less self heal potancy...and Dark Knight needs more self heal potancy across the board...and Samurai and Machinist need fixing. But other than that, I'm good! :3
My alt got some mounts today, yay
Oh, maybe I will have chance to kill Ixion FATE soon. Been waiting for it for whole week...
And housing lottery sprinkles some anticipation (and slight anxiety) to ff14 living!
I would count myself happy.
It only seems that way because people can't brigade and thought police other posters anymore. The rest are just troll threads, with the occasional actual issue someone has.So we started an FC, and we are genuinly happy and excited to play the game.
On forums it's all doom and gloom. We are having fun. Why doesn't the ffxiv forum community reflect that.
Overall, this is a great expansion. Came back did ARR, so much better, do the rest.
It's a game, have fun. I love you all!
FF6 Sabin
People who are happy are usually just playing the game and this is the majority, the really loud minority gathers here to cry about the latest changed with which 99% of the playerbase is actually happy with but yeah trolls have to spread their hot takes everywhere here. Glad the devs don't listen to the NA forums, cause it doesn't represent the community in any way at all.
Reddit is the place for happy uwu whole stuff, forums is the place for complaining.
I'm genuinely happy and excited to play the game. If I wasn't feeling it anymore, I would quit and find another game. I've been playing it for 8 years now. I have a rule that I only log in if I want to play that night. I end up playing most nights. Sometimes I want to do something else for a night and do that. Between patches, I find goals I want to accomplish and work toward those. Or I play on alts.
I've been playing MMOs for, gosh, 23 years now. I played EQ, EQII, WoW, DaoC, SWG, STO, CoX, Champions Online, ESO, and probably others I poked my head in and forgot about. I let games own my life before and I was happy doing that. I'm not happy doing that anymore, so the theme park format of XIV works perfectly for me. I engage with the content I want to and don't worry about things I don't. I'm happy they have a variety for everyone. To be honest, you're going to see more negativity on most official game forums. It's just the nature of the MMO genre.
The game isn't perfect. I certainly have suggestions for the devs. There are some things that lack that they could make better. But it's good for me now and there's nothing that is making me so unhappy I don't want to play.
Given time, horror fades, and repetition makes what was unthinkable now normal; the monstrous is made manageable for mankind adapts to every horror.
I always adjust so I don't have many complaints.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
