I noticed a problem with Deep Dungeons:
- The first floors are only being done when the content is new, while only 1 set of floors is being repeated by a majority of the playerbase
- Players who join in late are at the mercy of others in Party Finder to reach those desirable floors
- The game is very vague on the required Aetherpool Levels for specific floors, which makes figuring out if a player has too low of a level quite tricky, sometimes forcing the whole climb to start from scratch
- HoH has things kept very vague... I want to help someone reach Floor 21. We clear Floor 20, but can't continue, and we don't know if its because: A) They need to clear Floor 30 before Floor 21 becomes a new potential starting point, or B) Their Aetherpool Level is too low. There is no true official info on either of both online
Now I get where this is coming from: Deep Dungeons should have multiple sets of floors. Even if this is the basic stuff that players will skip later, the initial climb should be something of an adventure, however I feel like it causes these severe frustrations to players, and I came up with a solution: Create an option to que up without a save file! Let me explain:
- Since Players who just level up their jobs keep deleting their save files, just to re-do the same set of floors, one could simply create an option to que into the Deep Dungeon, and then like in a Dungeon roulette, they'd land on a random floor where a player needs assistance to climb, saving them the busy work with the save file
- To make this not so undesirable, reduce the normal EXP gain, and have this option grant extra EXP
- This would always give newer players a chance to find people to help them out
- This would mix things up for players who keep running the Deep Dungeon
- This would make it possible for players to level up jobs in Deep Dungeons, while still using both save files for actual long climbs to the top
I feel like it could be a great way to give longevity to future deep dungeons, but also older ones.
Naturally I understand why this could be a lot of work on an old bit of content that people don't do much, but in 6.3 we will get a new deep dungeon, so I feel like this might be worth looking into at least for that location.
