Good lord the time travel makes me want to bash my head into something. First it was a solid static loop with Alexander, then it was multiverse with Graha(which is fine, they're not mutually exclusive), then EW comes around looking all derpy with linear timeline!!!

And there was such an easier way to do it, the echo.

Yep, an established plot aspect, tying to the character's ancient soul, which would've made perfect sense to explore further in EW - nope, we need another, gloopy serving of time travel... with a side dish of memory wipes to go with it.

Especially since Elidibus can summon other WoLs, so all he had to do is tether our other reflections to us so the echo can remember that time. Appearance could be poked fun at by Hyth that Azem was fiddling with glamour magicks again, it almost writes itself.

Or they could make the player completely invisible to the ancients and degrade him to a pure observer. This would also not mess up anything.

No, it is not. They have completely messed up the whole time travel thing. And some decitions the protagonists made are very questionable.

But overall, the Endwalker story is good. Better than Stormblood, IMHO.

More than likely the people after the sundering, and or Vanet herself. They never answered however the world used to be called Ethyris, then it became known as Hydaelyn after the summoning. You could say the same for Zodriak, it was more than likely herself, and she has interacted with people making her will known and probably told them. Doesn't break the time travel. Is that your only argument for how it's "broken" when it took me 5 seconds to give a plausible answer.

The lessons and morals taught in Endwalker and the overarching story are phenomenal and I feel go underappreciated due to the relative intelligence and literacy of the fan base namely those who didn't enjoy Endwalker.
