SHB Role Quest starter NPCs are all missing after Endwalker finished

Hi guys,

I finished SHB as Samurai and Endwalker as a Reaper. Now I'm leveling BLM.
I don't know if its possible or not, but I'm not finding the role quest NPC. None of them.
It's also not possible in the NewGame+.

So I'm probably missing something here, anyone knows what I suppose to do ?

You can't NG+ it until you've fully completed the quest chain. Have you done all 4 roles so far (it's only possible to do those quests once per role)? If so, that does then open an additional 'meta quest' from a new NPC in the bar area where you'll do a series of quests involving all of them - however it's also subject to you completing an old HW quest chain that unlocks all the Containment Bay Trials in Azys Lla for lore reasons.

In the meantime you can visit them in all the zones back where you left them at the end of their quest chains but only to say Hi and get some flavour text.

But the problem is exactly that. The NPC is missing.

Did you purchase and use a story skip (Tales of Adventure: Shadowbringers)? If so,

Tales of Adventure: Shadowbringers will complete all quests for the designated job, up to and including the relevant role quests in Shadowbringers.

That's true even if your jobs were below level 80 at the time you purchased the skip though from the way it's worded, it sounds like it should only affect one of the role quest chains though it's possible it affects all.

Regardless of whether you used a skip, your first step should be to check the quest Journal. Click the Complete button, select Class/Job Quests, then scroll to the bottom of the drop down menu to Role Quests and see if any quests are listed there. I see you have at least one job in each of the role types leveled to 80 or higher so there's a chance you had done the initial quests at some point in the past and the NPCs have moved away from the Wandering Stair to subsequent locations. If so:

Magical Ranged DPS quests are continued

in Mord Souq

Physical DPS quests are continued

at an isolated shack southeast of Wright.

Tank quests are continued

first in Wright then in Pla Enni.

Healer quests are mainly at the Wandering Stair

but will finish at Tomra.

If any of the chains are showing complete (will have the level 80 quest listed), I can't explain why they are not appearing in NG+ for you. They are added individually after completion of each role type. I've checked my alts that only did one or two of the role quests to confirm.

Agreed it's strange but that's why I referred you to the quest Journal. It will tell you if any/all part of the quest chains are considered already completed.

My only experience of the role quest characters disappearing is that they temporarily disappear upon unlocking role quests IF you bought a level 80 job skip for that role, which auto-completes the role quest line as well.

For my most recent character, I had skipped WAR and BLM. At the point just before you to talk to Glynard and get told about the four people who need help, Granson and Cerigg were in their usual story positions, and if you talk to them they're pondering whether they can find a partner, as they should be at that point. After talking to Glynard, they vanished entirely but Reeq and Giott were still there, and next time I went past, the other two were back and now in their end-of-quest states.

Edit: Cerigg is there anyway, I hadn't actually checked Granson.

I never started any Magical Dps nor had one at level 80 before endwalker. I'm also never bought a skip. But they are exactly where Jojoya said. Thanks a lot. Much appreciated.
