So we go from people complaining that Lottery is unfair.. To now it being TOO fair?
Boy, people will find any reason to complain nowadays, huh..

I do wish the entry timer period was shorter- not 5 days but 48 hours
The lotto is fair as in everyone gets a fair shot & stops from the cheating players using a click bot (which is awesome bc fck those people)
But Why yoshi-P thought more wards needed to go to FC houses is beyond me
I know eventually those wards will be fixed but the demolition timer just needs to come back to help balance the amount of houses that are owned by inactive players so some plots will start getting freed up
Let's be clear, it's not an objectively "fair" system... it's just a system in lieu of another system that gives more casual players a punchers chance at owning a home.
How can we even being to define what "fair" even means?
You could argue a waiting list is actually more fair, because it's unfair that someone who just started playing the game 3 months can win a large home while someone that's been trying to get one for 10 years loses.
You could argue that a more capitalistic approach is more fair, because if someone wants to get into a better home they should earn the gil and pay more based on demand.
And even with having a long lottery entry window, you could argue that current system gives people who can login an hour before the lottery ends an unfair advantage in bidding on higher probability plots.'
Let's just stop using "fair" to defend any one system over another. The lottery system is just another system with no claims on some mythical objective "more fair" notion

Wow, the level of entitlement in your post, is off the charts. The Lottery IS objectively fair with regards to personal housing because it gives the SAME ACCESS to all who enter it. It does not discriminate based on people's schedules, speed of Internet access, third party addons, time spent playing the game or the amount of Gil players have (as long as the players have the basic plot fee). Everyone who wishes to apply is given the same access. That is objectively fair.Let's be clear, it's not an objectively "fair" system... it's just a system in lieu of another system that gives more casual players a punchers chance at owning a home.

I believe that it should be on a shorter timeframe than it is now. The chance to actually get a house is massively small as it is. Now it's a 5 day cycle to place bid and then another 4 days for the results to kick in/be claimed. That's 9 days total.
After that it's another 5 day cycle to determine another winner & yet another 4 day cycle. Another 9 Days
You get practically 3 chances per month & by now due to the lack of wards, you have 3 chances per month with around 1-3% chance to ever get a house due to how long the cycle time is.
Sure you just click & wait but it's still to long of a process to wait. They should absolutely lower it since it's to long. People shouldn't need 5 days to place a bid or another 4 days to pick it up.
So they need to lower the cycle time, how ever it doesn't solve the true issue. They can do any changes to the lottery system as they want but no matter what the real issue is the amount of wards/plots not how the system works.
Lottery system is fair(Except for FC's, since u can overflow the tickets & do multiple bids on one or several plots without any drawbacks, that is unfair, it should be 1 ticket per FC to make it fair for everyone, including not bidding on more than 1 plot) You just place your 10-50 bids on a house & don't lose anything by it. That's not fair.
Personally I have a prime small house & a Medium FC house so personally nothing of this affect me but i still believe that shorter cycle time & less overbids by FC's is a necessity except that they need to increase the amount of wards in total cuz that is the real problem not the system itself(just need a few tweaks).

I mean we could just complain about the lack of availability, or complain for a system that actually solves the issue rather than place a bandaid on it.
But this forum has some pretty colorful people.
Lottery is working as Intended, and its intended to be shit lol
Agreed, I see it as:Lottery system is fair(Except for FC's, since u can overflow the tickets & do multiple bids on one or several plots without any drawbacks, that is unfair, it should be 1 ticket per FC to make it fair for everyone, including not bidding on more than 1 plot) You just place your 10-50 bids on a house & don't lose anything by it. - lottery cycles should be 2 days to bid 2 days to claim.
- remove FC overbidding so every FC gets one chance at the large house. (I don't know why they didn't treat this as they would for personal bidding)
+ Add upgradeable housing for small & medium FCs to give them some kind of incentive to keep their current house instead of relocating every patch.
+ They should use an Updated Airships Overhaul as an extension to housing (mobile housing) and then it wouldn't just be tied to FC's. But tied to landing Docks and gives airships various usage throughout the game. Besides just being a gil sink for fcs. Airship Housing Overhaul Idea Detailed
I don't think it's fair how it is. What if one creates lots of alts on the same account and have them all bid on the same plot for a better chance of winning. You could have 2 accounts then could have up to 16 entries per a plot.
