Lottery System is TOO Fair

The idea for a lottery system was great, click once, go, maybe win, try again.

But then things had to get complicated. I don't see the need for a 5 day entry timer, and I don't see the need for cycles, people will say it is so people who can only play once a week can get a chance but I honestly disagree. Housing is limited, I'd wish they would fix that but if they could I'm sure they would, so with limited housing people who play once a week aren't the biggest priority. This system was designed to be far to equal, so much so that it has ruined any form of house hunting

Just make the entry times a guaranteed 24 hours since demolition, that way people who are actively hunting houses can 1, always check once a day to see if any houses are up, 2, juggle timers so they can have the most amounts of tries in as little time as possible. And with less time, there will be less houses with insane amounts of bids.

I mean what are we gonna do after this whole relocation period? Slowly we will run out of relocators and we will be left with a couple of houses, maybe none who knows, per 5 day period. All of which will have insane amounts of bids.

TL : DR Remove housing cycles, make it a guaranteed 24 hour timer after demolition.

I wouldn't say cycles are bad idea but they should have been much faster than current version. Something like 24h to entry after each daily reset and generous 48 hours to claim would be better pace. Most of players try early so it's just great waste of time leaving the plots empty.

No ty, adding back min maxing to house purchasing just brings back the unhealthy aspect to house hunting. As well as benefits those who use bots to run through everything.
The cycles are fine, waiting a week is not going to kill you. So much moaning over how long the cycle takes. The time flies by if you actually do things other than mope over waiting on results.

That reminded me: wasn't the pro-lottery argument before, well, our current era of lottery cycles that you could do something else than house hunt/click placards, which was boring and bad and life ruining and soul crushing.

Few days waiting? Sounds like perfect time to farm some mounts, or old relic, or catch up with that savage. You know, do something else.

Gives everyone enough time to be able to find the house they want from the available pool which will be changing every lottery with relocations and also gives you a few days to actually enter which is nice for those who can't login everyday or they have an obligation that would otherwise make it so they might miss a shorter lottery.

Also your complaint seems to be with the available pool of houses which is indeed a problem, but I think it is a problem separate from the lottery.

People who play once a day, once a week, or once a month are all paying customers and have equal priority. Because you play often and are pissed at the idea that someone who doesn't play as often as you do got/gets a house and you didn't/don't in no way invalidates the equal importance of each players' subscription.

Having a 5 day timer gives a broader segment of the player base a chance to get a house. A 24/48 hour timer favors those able to play every day, which is counter to SE's idea of wanting as many players to have access to things as possible. Wanting to screw over players who can't play every day to give yourself a better chance of getting a house isn't a good look.

Have some patience, you'll either get the house or you won't. That's all you can do.

I'd say they go hand n hand. Lack of houses means more bidding on the few we have and longer periods means more folks bidding even more so due to having more time to make money (run on sentence ik lol).

the cycles is a great idea, you know when it is up again and you know when the period is going as well... so can be on an off without having to camp some placecard for ages.

I don't know if we're really even able to properly judge the cycle timing right now given that we've really only had one cycle that lasted "forever" due to the 0 bug. I agree that it's possible that the current schedule is longer than needs be but we haven't exactly had an accurate representation of how that feels yet.

it largely doesn't matter how long the cycle timing is even if you do consider the 0 bug, all the houses that are currently up for bid for personals will be gone. Sure there will be spots open in the FC wards, but who knows when they're going to lift that sanction. These cycles are going to last "forever" because there is no auto-demo currently, and no time frame has been given for when FC wards will be open for personals. On the off chance someone moves their house from a personal ward to another personal ward due to lottery, that 1 house will likely have upwards of 1000's of bids. Not only that it'll likely be for a small house, which personally I'm not interested in smalls.
