Feedback from a new(ish) player

I started playing last summer. Since then I’ve managed to finish the MSQ, unlocked flying, done a few savage fights, toyed with PVP, and unlocked and completed all the old raids and dungeons.

It’s been an absolute blast. I love the game and I believe I’ll continue playing it for a long time to come (with breaks here and there, obviously). The only thing that stands out as bad is your inventory system. It really needs redone from the ground up. The fact that people can pay real money to bypass one of its short comings is even worse.

But I digress, keep up the good work, and thanks to the community for being so welcoming.

If you mean inventory search for items, you can use the /isearch command (ex: "/isearch Scaeven" if you wanted to find any Scaeven items you have). It will look for items stored in your character inventory, Chocobo Saddlebag, retainers, Armoire and Glamour Dresser.

What's wrong with the inventory exactly? It's fine. You can change a lot of the display and sort settings for it as well.

Is the inventory thing about limited space? Because I only have the two free retainers and I've never had a problem.

When it comes to inventory the Glam system is actually my biggest issue.
My Glam storage is full and I have to keep stuff in my inventory and it's basically perpetually full too lol.
Normally I juggle like 5-10 slots.

Edit: Granted tho I am very disorganized too.
But I also have a lot of stuff I am trying to sell my retainers are always selling at max capacity but it can be slow so they just sit on a lot of stuff and so do I.

The inventory system as a whole is clunky and obnoxious to use

There's a limit on how many inventory windows you can have open at once, which makes any significant sorting both irritating (because it auto closes windows when you open too many...) And inefficient, you can only view one retainer inventory at a time, and just the fact that we have so many different inventories and storage systems with different rules is enough to be irritating in itself

Like when I go through and purge/reorganize my glamour, I'm dealing with my armory chest, my chocobo saddle, two different retainers, and the glam dresser + armoire which also interact with each other in ways that imo are not always immediately obvious

I'd like more and better ways to sort and filter, and better ways to view and organize multiple inventories at once
