Open Up FC Housing Zones for Individuals

There are more housing spots available in ONE SINGLE district of the FC locked district in the new housing zone as compared to the entire server on Malboro. This is beyond ridiculous. They needed to open up the FC zones this round when they could see this has been a UTTER FAILURE. Are they waiting for people to quit because of this?

They undoubtedly will, but I suspect not until 6.2 as they have mentioned they would make adjustments to the housing distribution each major patch. Yoshi really should interrupt that scheme and enable personal housing in wards 1-18 asap, though, as it clear at this point that FC's are not really in the market for small house plots.

I'm pretty much to the point of not resubscribing until they fix housing, period. Either make more districts, instance housing zones, or make the friggin apartments much larger. These stupid crutches just aren't cutting it. Far worse games than FFXIV have done so much better in their player housing content/implementation.

All they need to do to fix this issue is make apartments like SWTOR's.
Start off with an FC room sized apartment then pump more gil into it to upgrade it to small/medium/large house size inside. it's all instanced housing so who cares. Give players an indoor garden plot to grown vegetables and the majority of players will probably be fine sacrificing the front lawn.

I fail to see what's the problem with hundreds of people fighting over a single plot when the FC wards are nearly empty.

The FC wards are fine. Those plots of land will be consumed when all the Larges and Mediums are taken. All the FCs are fighting over those first.

You mean the small and leftover mediums will be taken by Shell FCs that had time to mature due the delayed communication fix (delayed deployment).

Its alright tho, i already purchased fuel to light up the forums and the game when the impending doom happens in the next 10 days.

Can't fight if no ones bids on a plot. In our ward, only one medium was taken the others were never bid on so there's no fighting going on.

I've been thinking about this a lot. I suspect what they're trying to do is establish, once and for all, exactly how much FC housing need there actually is. The only reasonable way to do this is to give them more than they need and give it a few cycles to settle so they can make a more objective evaluation of what the need actually is.

My suspicion(and hope) is that they'll give it a few cycles - maybe 5 or 6 - so there's plenty of time for FC housing to stabilize, then start making further adjustments from there.
