What's the logic for "dps meter"/statistics in PvP but not other content?

In PvP you're getting direct feedback if you were doing good or not through damage done, healing done, assists, etc. As you should, because that's the feedback you need for improving.

Yeah, pretty much this. Sometimes it's hard for players to gauge how they're doing without such a tool.
