    Frontlines game type Command position

With map layouts like frontlines I feel it would be a boon to have "command positions." Basically each match any player who applies for command will be randomly chosen unless they have already completed a match as a commander more than the others who have applied. Commanders can get certain bonuses upon victory such as Gear as well as achievements or second and last place being the same rewards everyone who participates gets. Commanders don't communicate with text just waymarkers and orders much like Crystal Conflict, though, with a "silence timer" if an order is spammed.

Commanders would view the battlefield as only a map with a raised camera level, seeing enemy players who are in view of their GC's players and base much like the map already operates. Commanders of each GC would have certain abilities with long CD's such as increase defense or damage buffs as well as counter debuffs. They would also have access to CC like skills that only effect or defend from other commanders.

GC's would also have the opportunity to disrupt commanders by attacking their designated objects that allow skill use and orders leaving a commander useless until a "repair" or "reinforce" timer completes. These objects would be relatively close to the main spawns. This would allow GC's who have no commander to even the odds if needed and add another strategic objective.

I think that would make for an entirely more enjoyable experience in game modes like Frontlines. (mainly Frontlines unless another mode is created)

    That seems like effort...

Having like a player playing RTS while everyone else plays Final Fantasy sounds cool, actually, and I definitely would love that. But that seems like effort that Square isn't even begining to consider doing. They haven't even adjusted the numbers from before 6.1 into Frontlines. Rival Wings is still in limbo and might not even be returning at all.

So, cool Idea, but I don't think Square has the resources/drive to do anything like that.

Ah but that's the best part! most of the resources already exist to pull this off. But still some effort to smack it all together yes.

This is worth adding just for the salty posts big commander guys will post here once they find out majority of the playerbase simply ignores them and zergs back and forth as usual.

Sounds very Battlefield. I like it, but I think you'd run into a severe issue of people not listening to or obeying the commander, or commanders getting too big for their britches and acting like they're King Turd of Shit Mountain.

Frontlines are too fast-paced for it, too. Part of the reason you needed/wanted a Commander in Battlefield was that matches could take 30 minutes or more, the maps were *massive*, and players were grouped into distinct squads and expected to be coordinated across that entire map. I loved playing Commander in 2142, but I don't think it would be effective or useful in Frontlines here.

If buffs happen for a group together it is possible, to get that buff and the tasty KO's that come with it they would have to stay to the group as it would not (should not) be a map wide buff/debuff. Other than that people have been following callouts a lot lately. I wouldn't count out the matches being too toxic on average. Still going to have those matches no matter what though.

Honestly that game is what came to mind for me. Of course it wouldn't be exactly the same. But commanders in BF2142 could type in chat, this I'm thinking should be more like how communication in CC is. That would limit the Britches to circles outside of matches. Players usually do follow callouts so I would assume after a learning curve they start to adjust. it would be up to Square after that to design around that concept merging what we have now and the 2142 concept. it could be as simple as alliance party A B and C. they are basically squads. I just think it would be awesome once any kinks were worked out and newer maps designed around it.
