how i would do beastmaster

limit jobs are niche jobs they fun but their not for everyone but i believe if the right niche limit job come along i think people find the right niche limit job for them each limit jobs should apeal other niche bst should appeal to people like pet jobs.

it would not be that "difficult". As others have said, use the companion system as a base model. Have the job have its standard 123 and aoe rotation and a few other abilities and have the OGCD be the pet action commands. Shadowbringers summoner wasn't that bad in my opinion and having a carbuncle sit there and do nothing is one of my biggest gripes, along with the removal of the mch turrets. It seems like the devs feel like they have to create a "new and exciting" style of pet jobs, when I and Im sure others dont cant if its new and exciting as long as it works and is fun. Like they dont need to re-invent the wheel, just give us the wheel and make it sparkly.

BLU can be a normal job.

However, the devs may have chose the open world learning, over a level up system of spells earned at a certain level/levels.

Reason being, it would have made BLU a lightning rod. Players may show up to groups without certain spells.....Unless they do a spell check or something.

BLU was a terrible choice for a limited job, and a waste of resources when it could have been BST....

As for BST, it is way overdue....and is what BLU should have been. Just so A$$ backwards to make BLU a monster hunter job, instead of the actual monster hunting job.

FFXIV gets away with alot, due to the IP. Take the IP away, it is Neverwinter.

BST is a job they cant screw up....It is SE proof. I mean, what are you gonna do? Let us only charm rats lol?

If they were to do a Beastmaster job. Basically have two routes they could take it with a highly unlikely third

1) limited job like blue mage but also super crazy can do everything with no real limitations like blue mage
2) Sort of like how summoner is except a melee job with some personal melee attacks and skills to order the pet to do special things and release bigger monsters for flashier cooldown skills. Perhaps main pets could be like fairies where it's a choose your favorite skin type of deal
3) the unlikely would be #2 but still have open world exclusive classic beastmaster stuff

It has always been a pretty cool job concept even when it's not implemented super well

I still think that Beastmaster should be added as a side job, probably doing something with the companion system to bring more life back into it, but that’s me.

How I would do it:

• Make it a full job
  
• All the beast types are just different skins/glamours for your pet. They would all have the exact same damage abilities with the same potencies, just with different names or animations for flavor purposes
  
• Allow you to use your beast mounts as your pet

This preserves the flavor of the job without introducing any balance concerns, such as with BLU
