they're not limiting u to one tank, as u can see WAR and PLD can tank, each one has their pros and cons, but u have two jobs to choose no just one.
PLD = Better hate control
WAR = Better DMG
In my opinion I like more the PLD as tank, because DDs can get mad with DMG haha =)

If the tank doesn't generate enough hate, it's not a good tank. If another class can generate more hate more reliably, it should be used as a tank instead. Having DDs slow down to not pull hate only makes them underperform, which means less damage and slower kills.

If PLD can generate enough hate so that DDs don't have to hold back at all, it might be the better choice. So far people seem to be sticking with "WAR still can tank, you must suck" (exaggeratedly put), instead of testing PLD thoroughly and comparing them. I myself am not playing PLD nor WAR because I don't like the tanking role so don't look at me for actual test cases.

Best would be parsing the total dps of the group, using WAR + DDs and PLD +DDs a couple of rounds and get an average.
