    They are out of touch this time specifically on matter regarding many player in japan server or any server at all didnt actually playing in japan or the supposed region of the server...... i dont know how they can solve that aside making more server on other region, but look at oceania..... there are some positive with also some negative as well, cant win at everything I suppose

    I mean, animation lock affects combat. Combat. I don't see myself as a person inclined to make demanding statements but.. I don't care, they should fix this. They can make up on not winning elsewhere.

    +1 here. Apples and oranges, but if other online triple A games have connectivity lag issues down pretty solid, there really isn’t any excuse here.

    Really anything involving combat and positioning should be extremely well done as this is the core game part of this game. I’m not asking for first person shooter level smoothness, but we need to be close.

    Indeed coming from Guildwars 2 it was bewildering for me to understand the orange danger indicator was all that mattered for avoiding mobs, and not the actual, attack we see play out.

    As is you can’t even have a proper foot race because I will appear ahead on my pc and my wife, playing on the same network/same room will show me clearly behind her.

    They say it's mostly on Japan, but we've been suspecting there was a problem with the game as we've been experiencing disconnects and heavy lag these past weeks while raiding.

    Yesterday, we were reclearing savage while chilling on discord, and we had a few DCs. I, in particular, had lots of lag while the call seemed to be fine. This seems to confirm it was related to the game after all.

    We are all somewhere in Latin America, so at first we assumed it was our usually less than mediocre ISPs, but the discord calls seemed to be fine while the game was lagging super bad. I could even be on Twitch and everything seemed to run fine except for FFXIV.

    I've always disliked that on this game a super short service interruption ceaces your connection to the server. It's the only game I play that doesn't try to reconnect a few secs BEFORE actually closing your connection.

    Where was this sort of response when the EU data centre had horrible rubber banding in dutys back in Sigmascape? =(

    People accuse the FFXIV devs of only listening when the JPN playerbase complains or is affected and this is simply another data point proving that to be more likely an accurate assessment than not.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Animation lock is a problem because my ping isn’t low double weaving at times is impossible without severe clipping.

    Using the IP Addresses given, I tried running a quick ping check for both EU and NA Data Centers...

    For the EU one
    Packets: Sent = 10, Received = 2, Lost = 8 (80% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 1250ms, Maximum = 1370ms, Average = 1310ms


    And for the NA one
    Packets: Sent = 10, Received = 10, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 194ms, Maximum = 215ms, Average = 199ms



    This worries me greatly as I live in Europe...

    Wish they were this quick to make a post when NA complained about one specific node making the game a nightmare to play about a year ago. When NA mentions latency issues it's "we don't have that problem so it's not real", but JP gets an instant post.
