Do you think the Au'Ra shed their skin like snakes?

lol, for some reason I thought about this. would it be only the scale-covered parts or the entire body human-like skin and all? Would it be all at once or at random stages as necessary?

Au ra are mammals (breasts, sweat, warm-blooded, can have babies with hyur, don’t lay eggs), so I would say no.

Seeing as Au ra are mammals, I'd assume their scales work like Pangolin scales, they're similar to fingernails & grow throughout their life.
Pangolin scales are worn down digging burrows and the like, Au ra don't really do that so maybe they have to trim them?

I remember something about a Xaela tribe lining their boats with Au ra scales, so the scales themselves probably shed and regrow unless their skin boats are even creepier than they already are and they take from the dead.

But then you also have Koji who said that their horns, which seem to be the same material, grow once and never change unless they are damaged and then they grow back to what it was before.

Either way they’re still mammals and don’t shed their skin on their whole body like a snake.

I always assumed they were like crocodiles or pangolins and shed their scales individually as they wear out and new ones grown in underneath.

I imagine they shed in the same way that humans shed dead skin cells. Or perhaps have to be trimmed or filed down like fingernails.
