alts, mostly, though i do fantasia my main from time to time. to be completely fair i've made millions playing my alts through the game and then giving their gil to my main.

Sadly I've done both lately changing a couple of my viera to a viera style I like more although I don't use fantasia that often. A lot to be said for alts if you want to be kept busy and redo story etc. Different races are certainly one of the advantages where you can enjoy more than one.
I have too many alts to be a completionist although I wish we had an achievement bank for glamour/mounts/minions/music etc.
Fantasia.
I've thought about making alts (to branch out from my server and maybe even try rping) but I have too many things on this character that I don't think I'd want to retry to get (or buy from the mog station), nor do I think I have the patience to go through the MSQ again (even though I did overall enjoy it).
Fantasia addict here, unfortunately.
I’m always torn apart between my Viera and my Hyur and sometimes Viera’s limitations are just really boring so I take my Hyur back. I love them both so it’s ok, but what a waste of money…
I created an Elezen alt a couple of days ago, I was curious to play one through the MSQ but I don’t know if it will last in time.
Ty Pip_Chick for the lovely boy pic <3
Alts. I don't change my main except for her hairstyle.
Alts, definitely. I like them being separate characters with their own names, and has the practical benefit that they each have their own glamour dresser and plates. Every character has their own style of outfits and I would have to rebuild everything every time if I was switching between them on a single character account.

Neither for me. I love my WoL too much to spend time on another character or change her appearance in any way. (Well, outside of hairstyles and facepaint, but it took me like a year to do that, even.) She's looked the same from day one. My free fantasia is stashed in one of my retainer's inventories lol. Plus, there's always something I need to do that's time consuming (Like Eureka, dailies, maybe running deep dungeons solo., etc.) that I can't justify spending time on another character.
Maybe when they update the graphics I'll go in and make some minor changes, but she'll mainly look the same.
Something to consider is spending the money to boost an alt rather than Fantasia. It depends on how often you Fantasia versus the one-time cost (per alt) to get them where you want. It's not necessarily the cheaper path, but something to think about.
This. Although I do understand the idea of getting bored with an alt, I fell into that trap many times - if you don't want to spend money on skipping the story/leveling process try doing it differently! The way I'm leveling my current alt is by making sure all my classes are the same exact level this time, and playing through the story on the "cannon" classes (So War-Drg-Mnk-Sam-Drk-Pld will be my main classes). Take time to explore sidequests, etc etc.
