E3 Expectations

Showing a cinematic trailer is not going to convince anybody. CGI is not gameplay, is not content, is not anything. It's merely eyecandy.

Seems to work enough for Blizzard. Shit pisses me off. "Oh hey look how cool/exciting our game will never actually be!"

Anyways, They will likely show off some gameplay. I actually doubt they'll show off any CGI movies. If they show anything about the meteor hitting it will be a spoiler for all of us currently playing, which I'm sure they realize.

If they want this game to go far they have to promote it good at e3 and then after they need to have lots of commercials during prime time and ads online! I really hope they have more then CGI stuff >.> game play plix!

They should have Tanaka chained to a bench or post, gagged and blindfolded, so that every participant at E3 that has played XIV since Beta gets a free kick to his arse! lol.. sorry, that idea came, its silly and mean. But had to post it.

I suspect.. a Producer Letter a day or two before E3, for starters, for us.

Then E3, a trailer, showing off the new engine, possibly a dragon or two. We did get the concept art, so I suspect something like how they showed off Odin for ToAU, if the Ultima weapon thing is the big baddy, he'll make an apperance somehow.

If they do have game play, it'll be current version, showing off current battle system, job system. Possibly an isolated situation, like Hamlet Defense level 1, or the Garlean SH. Or possibly a new dungeon we dont know about yet.

Eitherway..I'm not attending. I'll be either catching news on Spike or online.

imho ( and I'm not getting my hopes up either) but when I think about this rationally, I feel like they HAVE to pull all the stops here to hook the crowd, so they can get the hype up for FFXIV 2.0.. I feel that they are going to do more than just a little video that many people won't care for, because they did the same thing for FFXIV 1.0, and look where it got them...

So, If I were in SE shoes right now, I would reveal alot of info regarding 2.0 ( not all of it obviously) but a good 10% of information about 2.0, would be enough to spark the crowd, into being remotely interested in this game.

So I am expecting more, then most people are thinking its going to be which is just a video... but I feel strongly.. that it will be more than that ( if SE wants FFXIV to succeed) then they'll do anything to get it.

I agree with this. If they want FFXIV to succeed they'll have to pull out all the stops at E3. I would even say that they need to pull out all the stops at the TGS.

About FFXIV coming to xbox, I wouldn't expect it. I think the story is that microsoft was trying to make FFXIV require the gold xbox live membership to play. So, in the end, SE stopped trying to negotiate with them.

there going to have to have a guy playing the game showing use actual stuff in 2.0 or the trailer if pointless.
