Best Friends Forever quest says complete but doesn't actually complete/give rewards

I'm having an issue with the Best Friends Forever quest where I'm unable to hand in my Terpander and the Archaic Enchanted Ink to receive the Lux Terpander.

Date & Time: Around 12:25pm 22 May 2022
Frequency: Every time I attempt to hand in the quest
World name: Louisoix
Character name: Angus Khithow
NPC name: Ardashir
Class/Level: Bard 90
Party or solo: Solo
Area and coordinates: Azys La at whatever coordinates that NPC is at

Playing on PS5 with Dualsense controller.

Steps:
1. On the quest 'Best Friends Forever', be at the stage when you've finished all the trials and are handing in the ink and Terpander to complete the quest and receive the Lux Terpander.
2. Speak with the NPC and hand over the items to complete the quest.
3. It'll say Quest Complete and 'obtained gil/Lux Terpander' appears in the chat log, but you don't actually receive them and the Terpander/Ink is still in the inventory.
4. From here you can keep repeating this, 'completing' the quest over and over but not actually completing it or receiving the gil or Lux Terpander.

I've sent in a bug report ingame but I don't know if GMs respond to them so I thought to post this here as well. If anyone knows a workaround or has a suggestion I'd be grateful for your input - I've tried speaking with the points reallocation NPC in Idyllshire (apparently just speaking with them should fix this at earlier stages of the anima questline?) and repairing the Terpander, no luck with those.

There was a stat squish and it caused this problem for a lot of people, but they resolved it by going to Ulan at Idyllshire and resetting their stats. Does that work?

Many thanks Jeeqbit for your help. I had tried going to Ulan and opening the allocation dialog window - all the stats were at zero, so it seemed reset. This by itself didn't fix it, but I then tried allocating all of the points to the different stats and after that I was able to properly complete the quest and receive my bow.
