Complaint regarding GMs and poor handling of harassment

Firstly, I apologize if there's a better location for this but this is the best place I could find for it. Forum moderators feel free to either move or tell me where to move this is there's a better location.

Anyway,

This doesn't apply to any one individual because I have not had the pleasure of discussing the incident with an individual GM, only vague prewritten replies from the "report harassment" button. There is a player who I will not name publicly (but will happily discuss the situation with a GM) who is repeatedly going around harassing myself and many others through various means.

This individual has been reported both by myself, and other multiple times and yet, despite responses saying that they would "ensure appropriate action is taken" this individual is, even as I type this, spreading their harassment via Party Finder and undoubtedly at other locations as well. But it seems as though no action has been taken to discourage them.

I'm losing faith in the GM team as a whole. I play this game primarily for the community but we're not safe from trolls getting in and causing problems when even the GMs do nothing to intervene.

A couple of years ago we had someone from a hunt group that actually doxxed somebody from another hunt group in shouts. Lot of people reported and showed proof of the shout doxxing and that person never got dealt with so yeah it sucks. :/

Sadly I wouldn't count on anything happening. There was someone in Limsa shout that I guess just had a messy break up. They put a link to a google doc that contained all their ex gf's nudes without her consent in shout chat. They got reported by A LOT of people and nothing was ever done. They were a mentor so I still saw them in NN every day.

Someone else has been having this same problem for a long time and posting about it here; but since they haven't posted anything in a while, so I assume they gave up and moved on.

This isn't even a FFXIV problem, it's a SE problem. We had the same thing back in FFXI which was released well before xiv was even a doodle on someone's napkin. They are so scared of punishing the wrong person, that they punish no one. Just like they are so scared of telling us something they cannot deliver, they tell us nothing and they are so sure of themselves they ignore their customer's feedback. SE, for the large corporation it is, just cannot seem to get customer service even remotely right. It's true that the customer is not always right, but that doesn't mean that every single one needs to be ignored.

You are likely just out of luck and have to continue to deal with it or move on.

But in XI we had fun things like the Goblin Bounty Hunters and "the great salvage purge". The latter half was real funny. SE needs to make more funny moments like that.

Yeah, and handling players who use addons have priority above all else, lmao.

Hmm. Are they making cooldown text bigger on the hotbar? If you can get them to admit this now that would be actionable.

I'm still hoping the past 5ish years have been a honeypot for another Salvage type deal.
