    Except FFXI actually managed to pull it off successfully and without fundamentally damaging the core foundations of the game. Goodness, even Stranger of Paradise made better use of the concept than FFXIV did.

    All time travel did for FFXIV was to tease us with party interactions that should have been taking place within the main party, and making a mockery of the Final Days when you learn the real reason behind it and how Venat was too arrogant to do anything useful to stop it.

    Personally I just find myself struggling to be friends with people that refuse to wall pull or even AOE properly and, in fact, seem to refuse to learn no matter how many times that I try to teach them.

    This sounds sarcastic, but there's a serious element to it: the story tries to sell me this idea that the SCIONS (shudder) are these AMAZING ANIME HEROES!!! with their flashy cinematics and cutscenes and EPIC MOMENTS!! that keep getting shoved in for years.

    ...And then inside an actual duty, they are borderline-incompetent and can't handle even basic gameplay that is standard and agreed upon by the game, its community, and even its directors and designers.

    Like... if you want me to think Thancred is SO COOOOOOOOL then, as a gameplay-oriented player, you could convince me of that best by just having him actually Tank a dungeon confidently and properly... rather than forcing me to pull for him, and losing his mind if I try to do something like pull up to the Demon Wall clones in Mt. Gulg.

    Sorry, this was a bit of a digression, but I've got to be honest, the performance of Trusts goes a long way to undermining my ability to take the characters seriously.

    I want an actual fail state in normal content to make people actually learn basic gameplay in order to see the story like a hard enrage cast in MSQ dungeons/trials for boss. Not doing your rotation semi-properly? Boom, you don't get to see the next part of the MSQ because you can't hit your buttons right 70% of the time.

    I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

    Stormblood and beyond should be made progressively harder after that with next to zero hand holding. Obviously, not made into nothing but hard core content, but balanced between casual and hardcore content in a healthy manner. Aka, midcore content, which should be the level the the vast majority of players should be able to play at.
    Took the words out of my mouth friend, I would love to see this.

    The engine and server infrastructure (database - backend stuffs) are in desperate need of total overhaul.

    This should be done before any other changes mentioned on this list are or even can be done so went with "other". Strong foundation first, build atop next.

    Beginning with proper latency handling. For the love of the twelve this should have been addressed years ago. The way the engine responds to latency spikes makes gameplay feel downright awful terrible at the times.

    Better character customization would already be more of the possible of model textures were not baked into armor (why you do this?!).

    Some of us have physical disabilities that prevent us from being able to optimize our play to suit your tastes. Unless you are willing to build in allowances for people like myself, you are essentially depriving people of an opportunity to enjoy the game. At the moment, MSQs are still doable for me and this allows me to access new locales so that I can do gathering which is one of the main activities that I enjoy. I do not do raids. I know I am unable to do them and that does not bother me. Raids are content for more skilled individuals that are not burdened with disabilities. I am perfectly fine with there being content that elite players can enjoy. You would see that extended to MSQs and thus the bulk of the game. Your conceit would end up costing SE a lot of subscriptions. How many I do not know but probably enough that SE would have to re-evaluate whether or not pleasing you is worth that loss in revenue.

    The sad thing is that I can think of huge glaring issues that correspond to each poll option.

    Story/Lore: Not happy how we were told we would be getting new adventures after 6.0 but all we have so far is an extension of the Zodiark/Hydaelyn thread with the portal to another shard. Plus the same scions again with nary a new character in sight. I also have my own personal issues with 6.0 but I'm not sure how popular those are.

    Housing improvements: Self explanatory, the games been in a perpetual state of housing crisis for years and they refuse to do instanced housing which would fix it.

    Glamour Improvements: Having a limited collection of glamour items and plates in general is ridiculous in 2022. What I wouldn't give if they copied the WoW system wholesale.

    Gameplay improvements: The overall trend they have been taking job design lately has been pretty terrible, making things simpler and simpler for no reason. Samurai's kaiten and auto-crit changes being the most recent example, not to mention healers who have been left out to dry for literal years.

    Harsher/Lenient rule enforcement: A bit hard to gauge but they definitely need to be clearer with the enforcement side of things. Their actioning as is seems to be sporadic and leads to players losing their minds (see general forums the last few weeks). But at the same time, it seems like bots are allowed to continue unabated.

    Prominent Moderator/Staff present: A lot of the OTHER problems seem to stem from them just not being aware of them so more staff presence would go a long way towards helping.

    Character Customization: Viera and Hrothgar

    Account wide purchases: Should just be a thing, not much else to say.

    Community/Social changes: They can't really control the community so I don't think there's much to say here.
