Players have ruined deep dungeon for people who want chests

There should be a minimum time requirement spent in each deep dungeon for it to count toward experience (without reason). As well as a boost per stat for each clear of every ten floors. +1 on the floors we have isn't enough if people just demand that you skip all the chests. I think it should be somewhere around +3 and +5. It has taken the fun out of it for anyone who likes the deep dungeon, and wants to earn extra rewards. I.e. weapon glamour.

Usually if you don't like it, they threaten to kick you, and tell you to just solo it, or find a party of people who want to get chests. That's hard to do, or find. :/ You also can't solo that well without finding chests first.

In the same vein that people ruined MSQ, players have ruined deep dungeons for others, and I think it's time the devs do something about it.

Duty finder is group consensus. If you want to go after chests, make a PF or do solo runs. Or, you know, just ask people to pop silver chests.

Making a minimum time for each duty is a terrible idea.

    I disagree with you completely.

Idk what's so fun about sitting in deep dungeons for ages when all you want to do is to level your jobs faster.

I would rather upgrades/drops be tied to mobs rather than chests. That way you can make progress towards unlocking the portal and even if you don't get anything, on the next floor you'd have to clear more enemies regardless so there is still a chance to get something. To prevent griefing, once the portal is unlocked the remaining enemies on a floor should despawn (only for the levelling floors - not the ones after that.)

If there is one thing I do not miss about Deep Dungeons is players wasting the time of the majority of the party by chasing after chests all the way at the opposite end of a floor when the portal is already open. Removing those chests is the best way I can think of alleviating the issue.

The key problem is people refusing to communicate or cooperate with each other, or the failure to pick up on nonverbal cues. If the party is sprinting towards the portal the minute it activates, logic follows that they are just there for levelling and want to get out as soon as possible. If you want to chase after a nearby chest, perhaps at the very least say something in chat so that other people know what is going on.

Towards the end of SB I would let people know from the beginning that I was only interested in doing speedruns of HoH, most of the time the remainder of the party was of the same mindset though I do recall being instantly kicked by some parties who I imagine wanted to go after chests. In those cases I didn't get a penalty, we were just there for different reasons.

I always go after the silver chests and rarely come across folks that are negative about it. It's all I've been doing for the past week or so and not even once have I come across someone that has said anything to me. I do get experiences are different per individual, but we're also on the same datacenter. Is it really happening that frequently for you? I've been going after them so I can solo later.
I mean, if you do get kicked, try again later; most parties don't give a anjdafhds if you go after them or nah.
In fact, it's so strange, most groups I'm in go out of their way to grab them. We just don't care for the gold ones, just the silver ones. It's only when folks be trying to grab all of them that something is usually said.

I think some people like finding chests and some want experience. Instead of SE changing things, I think you just need to find the group that best suits your needs. I think SE changes too much for the whim of people when those people could easily go find a group that better suits that they are looking to acheieve.

In our Free Company we run it sometimes for experience for the new players and sometimes we actively go for the chests.. it's a matter of the group and what, as a group you're wanting from that game time.

Given the chance, players will always optimize the fun out of anything. And since most people only run deep dungeons to level jobs they don't want to bother with in any other content.....

Going out of your way hunting for silver chests is a waste of time. It basically works in one of two ways.

    1. Fast runs but you only get half as many silver chests on average.
    2. Runs take twice as long but you get all the silver chests.

The first option is by far superior because not only do you get the same amount of chests per hour, you also get twice as much EXP. And yes, it does work that way. I've farmed 8 or so Kinna weapons in Duty Finder and it's just as fast to farm them when you speed through as when you hunt around for chests. No reason to waste your groups time.

To be honest, I think the Silver Chest system itself is what feels badly out-of-date at this point.

It made sense (I guess?) in the days of yore when the POTD weapons were actually chunky PvE combat upgrades for a portion of the playerbase, but at this point they're just cosmetic candy, and obtaining Grips ends up making the already-tedious POTD process even more tedious by resetting your power level back down again and again.

It'd be like if buying Tomestome weapons required you to drop back down to Level 80 and re-level to 90 again. 3 to 9 times. Except you don't gain EXP from defeating dungeon bosses, you gain EXP — maybe, randomly — from opening the chests throughout a dungeon. And sometimes your character just fails to gain the EXP, even if the chest had EXP in it. And you can only gain it in dull, tedious places like Copperbell Normal and Ghimlyt Dark.

    Ugh.

...Anyway, I really think that the rate of acquisition of Aetherpool should be significantly increased, possibly with some kind of scaling bonus based on how much you've gained previously, if SE wants to keep that "initial hazing" aspect in place for new players.
