    Unable To Renew Subscription.

    I'm currently one week into working with the very patient people of the Support Centre team on my ticket regarding my inability to renew my subscription. I'm hoping if I put the scenario out here to the community, someone might have experienced the same, or similar, situation and know a solution. Here goes...

    As of typing, I'm only six months into my time on Eorzea - I'm the sprout's sprout. When I made my full account, I paid with credit card, got a few digital additions and was on my way. No issues. I'm not playing through Steam.
    I live in Australia with a European account paying in Euros. I'm told this isn't an issue, but want to put it out there just in case.

    So six months into my time, my subscription expires. No big deal, I'll just renew my subscription.
    Error 406 when trying to renew.

    Below is a list of things I've tried doing to rectify this based on suggestions by the Support Centre team:
    • Try on a different device;
    • Try on a wired connection - not wifi;
    • Make sure any VPN is turned off;
    • Try different browsers (Safari, Edge and Firefox);
    • Clear all cookies, cache etc of browsers;
    • Try on a tablet that isn't connected to wifi;
    • Try on a phone/tablet that is using a data plan;
    • Confirm with your bank that everything is cleared on their side (confirmed); and
    • Try on a different network (I did it at work).

    I think that's all of them.

    When I try to renew my subscription on a P.C., I get a 406 error. When I do it on iOS, I get a 24202 error.

    To check if this is a renew account-only issue, I tried buying a 60 day game card on the store. I got the same error.
    I logged into my account at a friend's house, used their credit card and got the same errors.

    Has anyone encountered this problem before and solved it? If so, how did you do it?

    Did SE explain what the error actually means? That could be important.

    Can you connect directly to your wall/router? Meaning no wifi at all.

    It doesn’t sound like a game file issue, but you could try using a VPN in case where you are connecting from has issues

    Could ask your ISP provider to reset your IP. Mine was blocked before as it was apparently used in a way that sites like PayPal blocked it. Once reset it was fine

    Maybe they have a sort of anti-fraud-mechanism in place and it blocks you because you play from Australia and you try to buy something in the EU.

    A VPN could help. Or you buy an EU gamecard from Amazon or other shop.

    I was thinking the same thing. I asked if my location had anything to do with it and was told, "We can confirm that Australian players are supposed to use European accounts and pay in Euro, so this is not related to your issue."
    Last night I did try renewing using a VPN and setting it to London. Unfortunately I got the same 406 result.

    I've been told that the 24202 error is related to a browser issue and the 406 error is a related to a payment issue.

    I've tried connecting my P.C. directly into my modem, but not change in result... besides a long Ethernet cable running across the house.

    I haven't tried contacting my ISP yet. I can use my card for other online payments and subscriptions, though.

    I've spent the last six hours trying all sorts of solutions of turning off A, clearing options B, installing C, and everything in between. The closest I've come has been the suggestion to buy Crysta with PayPal, but I don't get the option to use PayPal anywhere. Living in Australia, nowhere sells 60 day game cards either.

    While researching this, I found many forum threads making note of this as a known issue for over five years now, but no effort has been made to fix it.

    My ticket has apparently been escalated. So now my account and time with this game is in their hands...

    A workaround might be to have a friend buy a gametime card for you with money you send to them via Amazon?

    You can get the EU time cards from SE's own website (not the Online Store or Mogstation, the seperate online shop on SE's European site where you can buy games such FFXIV itself and it's expansions - you may have to click the country button down the bottom and change it to Australia though), and pay for them in Australian dollars (assuming you're not using a VPN), but they're quite pricy. The specific page to purchase them in AU dollars is found here.

    @Enkidoh, IT WORKED!

    I had tried this a few times over the past few days while getting errors. The error message said, "An internal error has occured (error code: Mandatory field state not found). Please retry later."

    Mandatory field not found? Everything I entered had green ticks next to it. I filled out everything it asked me to. Let me look at this again.
    I click edit next to the payment details and notice my post code and phone number are not added to the details. Once I put those in everything went through as expected.

    Thank you again, @AngelCheese77, @Lirirawiel, @MilkieTea, @Jeeqbit and @Enkidoh! Your suggestions and helpful advice has got me back in Eorzea.
