I'm currently one week into working with the very patient people of the Support Centre team on my ticket regarding my inability to renew my subscription. I'm hoping if I put the scenario out here to the community, someone might have experienced the same, or similar, situation and know a solution. Here goes...
As of typing, I'm only six months into my time on Eorzea - I'm the sprout's sprout. When I made my full account, I paid with credit card, got a few digital additions and was on my way. No issues. I'm not playing through Steam.
I live in Australia with a European account paying in Euros. I'm told this isn't an issue, but want to put it out there just in case.
So six months into my time, my subscription expires. No big deal, I'll just renew my subscription.
Error 406 when trying to renew.
Below is a list of things I've tried doing to rectify this based on suggestions by the Support Centre team:
- Try on a different device;
- Try on a wired connection - not wifi;
- Make sure any VPN is turned off;
- Try different browsers (Safari, Edge and Firefox);
- Clear all cookies, cache etc of browsers;
- Try on a tablet that isn't connected to wifi;
- Try on a phone/tablet that is using a data plan;
- Confirm with your bank that everything is cleared on their side (confirmed); and
- Try on a different network (I did it at work).
I think that's all of them.
When I try to renew my subscription on a P.C., I get a 406 error. When I do it on iOS, I get a 24202 error.
To check if this is a renew account-only issue, I tried buying a 60 day game card on the store. I got the same error.
I logged into my account at a friend's house, used their credit card and got the same errors.
Has anyone encountered this problem before and solved it? If so, how did you do it?
