18+ clubs with 18+ activities can result in a ban if anyone reports they were uncomfortable with the activities. Just like FC's that have the same type of settings or activities.
Gonna correct you a bit here.
- With a catch they are. ERP events cannot be made public. Yoshi P already said before that he does not care if you ERP in private. You just cannot advertise it in public game channels, or make it public. See this old (but most recent on the topic) article if you want to know what ERP is allowed. https://www.gamepressure.com/newsroo...private/zb3baeAnswer in order :
-Yes, they are already bannable.
-18+ is against ToS if it's sexualy related, in fact, even before that. For exemple, simulating sexual action with emote (Yes, it's against the ToS). Of course, you can't do 18+ Violence related action, because the game engine is not coded for that.
-Clubs are not against ToS. Only if they respect ToS. And I hope they do.
-Asking for 18+ player, effectively, isn't against ToS, because you ask for a certain age. But again, see the 3rd answer. As long as you respect the ToS, it is not bannable.
-I sincerely hope that never happens. If one person ever do that, I think he will get quite a bad reputation quickly, and will be banned as soon as possible.
- WRONG. It is not against TOS. See above.
- Correct. Keeping your age group above 18+ is a good way to protect yourself from accidentally getting involved in any inappropriate conduct between like minded adults and minors. Of course that doesn't mean they won't be randomly added in duty finder, but as long as you keep your conduct correct in those instances, then absolutely.
- This is a gray area. While it falls under third party tool regulations, SE has made little attempt to vocalize any disdain for aesthetic mods other than that they do not like seeing adult screenshots shared on public channels. I highly recommend never sharing these publicly, or putting a name attached. For one, it respects the game developers. If this game were to suddenly have adult screenshots shown in a search engine, some people might get the wrong idea of the game. Say a parent wanted to sign up their kid, it might be what would scare them off if they were none the wiser.
I suspect that in the future when the game has its 7.x graphics and texture upgrades, that they will begin to make firmer stances on the rules for aesthetic mods. Shaders could for instance even suddenly get banned outright completely, with a wave of warnings, and bans to follow. I would watch for this if you are a fan of such things. I play on console, so I don't have access to any of these, or need to worry about it.

Pretty sure that's not true. You have to be doing things ban worthy for that. ERPing in private isn't ban worthy and if someone reports they were uncomfortable despite opting in and knowing what the deal is SE can just pull chat logs n tell who's bsing
Reminds me of the time we had a GM on Primal who was going around trying to shut down 18+ venues (apparently because they had a bad experience at one) and was putting folks in jail over it. Alot of us amassed in Limsa and had a mini protest for SE to take action against the GM as no rules were being broken. Good times

Prohibited Activities in Final Fantasy XIV - Harassment - Obscene/Indecent Expressions
https://support.na.square-enix.com/f...la=1&kid=68216
Example 2
In the case of role-playing involving mildly sexual expressions (such as erotic role-playing) with a consenting group of two or more players, if it is conducted in a private area, it will not be considered a violation unless a report is made.
However, if you encourage or invite a player to participate in such role-play without being certain of their consent, there is a high possibility that you will be reported and penalized. Please be very careful.
As you can see, expressions that fall under this category are generally prohibited, so if even one player who witnessed such an expression finds it offensive, there is a high possibility that it will be reported. What is considered offensive will vary from person to person, so if you believe there is any chance that you may offend someone, you should refrain from making such expressions.
Please note that Square Enix may issue a penalty at its discretion even if a report has not been filed but the act was found being conducted in public areas such as Say and Shout, search comments, Party Finder, on online video/streaming services, if the behavior is found to violate real world laws, or if it may be considered a problem based on the game's entertainment board ratings.
Whats with the "holier than thou" attitude that literally radiates from threads like these....?
vir·tue sig·nal·ing
noun
noun: virtue signalling; noun: virtue signaling
the action or practice of publicly expressing opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Yet with the latest rules/policy it can be made ban worthy according to SE and their policy on the matter. Just because you take it to tells doesn't mean you're free and clear. It all depends on the person on the receiving end how they perceive your approach and whether they find it offensive or not, be it in say, tells, party chat or shout. Even if the receiver just had a bad day, they can report it on a whim, consider it offensive and their report could lead to penalties under the official policy as it stands currently. It just surprises me how some are still unaware or have forgotten what SE's latest official stance is in the matter, when I read threads like these. To point out that it is a very fine line, while others act like it's so cut and dry, without any other conditions to consider. Where some just hear what they want to hear and see what they want to see while ignoring the rest. I share SE's sentiment when they also say "Please be very careful".
