Are they being removed in 2.0? I haven't seen any confirmation of whether they are or not but I have asked several times :/
I agree in increasing the amount needed and making them 100% drop like Garuda

about the remove, some where at the 2.0 interview had mention, the wep will be replace, dont know about the fight
They are very likely to be removed as they pertain to the coming of Dalamud and the 7th Umbral Era. Yoshi himself said to experience them now while you have a chance.
JPGAMES.DE, Frederick: To our next question: When your vision of FINAL FANTASY XIV 2.0 is realized, will there be anything left from the current game or are we going to play a whole different one?
Yoshida Naoki: Because we made such an announcement with all the information and that particular screenshot, we have a lot of questions from around the world like: “Is FINAL FANTASY XIV 2.0 going to be totally different?” Actually, it’s not going to be a different game, it’s still FINAL FANTASY XIV, of course, and the realm of Eorzea stays at Eorzea. The only difference is, as you experience now, the umbral era event, this is really going to change the world drastically. So whatever you are experiencing now is brining the future. For example guild leves remain, but some content can only be experienced in the current game. Also, there were worries we would wipe all the character data, we won’t do anything like this. So enjoy the game now and continue when 2.0 comes out.
JPGAMES.DE, Frederick: We definitely will.
Yoshida Naoki: For the guild leves, all the feedback that we receive from the players will be implemented and the proper ideal of good and evil will be brought in with 2.0 as well, also the instanced raids that you are experiencing now will be different as well, but for the primal, what is happening now due to the 7th umbral era, that might not be continued with 2.0. So, what is related to the umbral era you should really experience now.

Thats about as close as you're going to get to a link and confirmation. I don't think the weapons will be taken away but you guys can't expect that when they tell you to experience the stuff now, a year in advance, they WON'T take stuff out. They told you this was happening. Don't act surprised. They should however make stuff start dropping quickly as the moon almost hits. They could play it off as the Primals are stronger or have more energy or w/e and drop things more often because of that.
This is kind of like saying that the US Post Office is going to close when they announced that you will no longer be able to mail letters with 25 cent stamps. What? There are only 25 cent stamps! NO MORE MAIL OMG!!?!?!?!?!111!!Thats about as close as you're going to get to a link and confirmation. The only content confirmed that you won't be able to obtain post-2.0 is your goobbue mount, and they were extremely explicit about that. You think they are just going to junk 3 primal battles, when the biggest problem with the game currently is lack of content? Sure, they will change the text, etc. to make it "up to date", since the current storyline will have closed by 2.0 and everything will need to make sense relative to the current storyline, but making the rather huge leap of logic that anything that references anything is going to be deleted wholesale is ridiculous (which is a charitable way of putting it).
Unless you think it's easier to create all-new content than for them to adjust the text and whatnot.
If you folks could kindly stop claiming wild-eyed speculation as absolute fact, maybe these forums would be less confused.
I have to agree with you, they never said that they are going to stop primal fights. Reading into interviews and speculation spreads like a horrible disease. The "changes" to Primals could mean just about anything...This is kind of like saying that the US Post Office is going to close when they announced that you will no longer be able to mail letters with 25 cent stamps. I'm really tired of friends freaking out because they think that either:
a) Primals are going to get ditched
b) weapons will no longer drop
c) difficulty of the fight will increase
NONE OF THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY, OR UNOFFICIALLY STATED.
That could simply mean text/story will change >.>...but for the primal, what is happening now due to the 7th umbral era, that might not be continued with 2.0. So, what is related to the umbral era you should really experience now."
