Will there be a wipe between 2.0 beta and 2.0 live?

So I was wondering, if the 2.0 beta will be coming to us before the 2.0 live (which is common sense, I know but hold on a sec) will there be a wipe of information between the 2.0 beta and 2.0 live?

I know in most games the beta character progression and what not are erased sense it is a beta, but with FFXIV just upgrading from 1.XX to 2.0 will there be a wipe of character progression between the 2.0 beta and the live release?

Edit: To try and clarify: Your 1.XX characters will not be wiped, but stored for later when 2.0 goes live. The progress you made in the 2.0 beta will be wiped. Since it is a beta.

Edit: As per the interviews given by Yoshi-P the above has been confirmed. The characters used in the beta servers will be new characters and will later be wiped. 6/7/2012

It all depends how they will do it, if they port our current characters to the 2.0 servers then no, if we have to create new characters then probably.

Our 1.xx characters will be around at 2.0.

They might be doing in-house testing but the time in which the game goes free will the the "open beta" in a sense of 2.0. So I"d say no that there will be no wipes since the phase in which the gamers will be playing 2.0 should be the same time in which 14 goes f2p for 2-3 months.

Also, no wipe, we will get 2.0 early because we are testing it, if they don't pay for the game then they don't get to complain when people are ahead of them in a game that came out 2 years ago.

I have seen several posts that promise letting us keep our old gear and characters. They even implied that we will keep our levels and our goobboues and Legacy Chocobos and our old Chocobos... as well as all the gear in our hotel room.

Considering they are (confirmed) going to let us keep are 1.x characters, I doubt it. A few MMOs have been letting people keep their beta characters into release, so its safe to assume there will not be a wipe.

As I said there will only be a wipe if its a proper beta ie new characters starting from scratch, if they port us all over, and the beta is essentially an early release for current subscribers there will not be one.

There is a possibility that FFXIV 2.0 Beta will require testers to log into another site and create new characters to test the new program... not touching the game we are currently playing.
