Why is there no Savage tier content for solo players?

I've looked at the savage videos, and there's no way I'd be able to complete them without spending 60% of my time on the floor, dead (and then getting kicked,)
I finally got all my gear to 600 yesterday (except weapon, which requires savage), so I'm effectively done with the game. Considering unsubbing until the next patch / expansion.

Seems kind of pointless to get BiS gear and not use it.

Well it's not BiS, it's just augmented tome gear. There is definitely a point in getting it though and that is dyable gear pieces.

They're also not in BIS Gear.

BIS is a mixture of Savage and Astronomy Tome vendor Augmented gear, different pieces depending on the job role.

For instance the chest is straight not BiS for a large majority of jobs since the sub stats are straight jank and someone with all correct sub stats i600 but with the i590 chest with correct sub stats is actually going to outdps someone with those completely wrong substats.

The tome chest lacks the most important stat.

Crit.

It tends to only have one capped substat that is secondary for a job like DH/Det

And it won't get anywhere near having gear cap on the other.

So you typically lose a ton of potential dps for a little bit of hp and a tiny amount of primary stat increase by using the i600 Radiant chest over the i590 chest with Capped Desirable substats.

The only piece of gear this rule straight doesn't apply to is the weapon where iLevel makes a big difference and even then, all the weapons are set to be Crit + Desirable substat this time around with the current BiS being the 605, followed by the Augmented tome weapon (600) and then the 595.

Take for instance SMN.

Only two pieces are BiS from Augmented Radiant on your armor side. The pants and the boots.

The Savage head, chest and gloves are BiS and it isn't even close in those slots.

But if you don't have the Savage chest, use the i590 chest from Alliance raid. You'll get far more mileage out of it than an extremely poor mishmash of substats that actually *hurt* your rotation (Spell Speed for SMN = Bad, it will drift your normally strict rotation, I know, I'm having to use some i590 crafted pieces that have SpS while I get my Savage pieces and you notice the drift by your second full rotation)

So yeah, they absolutely aren't BiS.

Yeaaaah the drift is insane. Having my Bahamut/Pheonix phase slowly fall out of alignment with Searing Light because of Sps that I have *no control over* is so upsetting to me, it's gotten to the point where it's optimal for me to hold off on my rotation with a few filler Ruins.

Heck in some fights it's even better to throw a filler ruin than a second cast of Ifrit just to fix drift. So can't wait to get these last few pieces of SpS gear off next week, the drift drives me crazy.

Yep, has happened a few times.

For Caster this time the crafted Aug ring/Non Aug tome ring for the secondary ring is the BiS as the Savage ring is jank statted, unless they're a SpS BLM of course.

*yawn* as someone who's been in BiS since March, who cares? The only use for BiS is Savage or - this tier - DRS Ultimate. This is what I find so funny about people having fits about the current savage tier: you literally don't need it for ANYTHING else in the game, except possibly DSR, and if you can't clear the current Savage tier, you're not going to be clearing DSR, so who cares?!
