    I've never understood why ff14 thinks pet classes are a pain. They have a companion system that functions perfectly and you could use that as a base for a pet class. Have your standard rotation pieces, the 123 and aoes, and have a pet that does an auto basic attack, and the ogcd's be the special commands for the pet. Its like they want to reinvent the wheel and create a whole new way of doing pet jobs, but in reality the wheel is fine. give us the wheel and make it sparkly lol.
    I would guess that this will be a double dps expansion, 1 for magical ranged and 1 for physical, considering they are the 2 roles with the fewest full jobs and we got a healer in EW and a tank in ShadowBringer. And a physical ranged that shares armor with ninja that uses a whip could be a lot of fun. I find the phys range works like a bullseye. Bard and Machinist work best at outter mid to long range, I find dancer works best midrange or closer to melee, a whip class that works within the midrange could be fun. A build like Belmont would be a great basis.

    I had thought of a two handed hammer, like Gaia, for a green mage, that was the inverse of RDM. While Red's tend to stay at ranged and close in for their big rotation, a magical pseudo-melee job that does more close range damage and then "jumps" out for their big rotation, would be a fun idea and not something that we really have to my knowledge.

    Tank: One handed axe and a chain in the offhand that works like a makeshift shield around the arm when not used, yes it's for Beastmaster.
    Caster: Casters are the only role without a hightech weapon so, I'd like to see a giant magitech rifle that can load up spells.
    I actually think this will be a double dps expansion, unless we dont get 2 full jobs. We got a healer in EW and a tank in Shadowbringer, we haven't had a magical dps since stormblood and ranged physical role is in the worst shape out of the 3 dps roles and we haven't had 2 dps since StB. Except for tweaks in their role the tanks and healers are pretty well balanced, we have 4 and 4, we have 5 melee dps but 3 magical and 3 ranged phys. IF they do a double dps with those roles, we would have 4/4/5/4/4, not including limited.

    its not really a pet job issue
    its just SMN/SCH are riddled with 2.0 flaws

    100% with how far the games come they could easily make a competent pet job

    Hope they add the Judge job with these weapons in the game soon. Gabranth in XIV is using the same stance as his original counterpart in XII.

    They're not going to release a expansion without a new melee. Them's the rules.

    After what happened with Stormblood I don't expect them to ever do 2 new DPS jobs with no new tank or healer. So much complaining about DPS queue for everything lol...

    i'd like something that uses a crossbow. bard is great, but it leans too far in the musical aesthetic, leaving "ranger" unused
