How bout a Orb as a weapon. We do have sage weapons so why not give a magic range a orb that floats around you

as for new weapons, I'd like something whip related. DRK has a whip sword (I think from Seiryu?) and its unsheathe animation is so satisfying to watch.

No, AST is an astrolabe/planisphere. It is a 3-Dimensional sphere of interconnecting circles.

A weapon may condense when sheathed but that does not change what shape it is when active.

When I meant orb I was thinking more like what Kael'thas has. Instead of holding it in our hand it will float around and then when we use it it transforms into different things like weapons (giant swords to deal a line aoe or something like that) or portals for void minions to come out of.
