I was being sarcastic, bud. ^^ However, I do love the idea for geomancer. It was one of my favorite jobs in tactics!Stone, Stonera, Aero, Aeroga, Holy, Cleric Stance
I had people expect me to nuke for fights even though I was just expecting to sit an be the healer.
Maybe not too much light magic, but white mage is not a nuker, and if your nuking your not healing which means people are dying. (unless shits under control)
Now if youll turn your attention to my guide in the Conjurer section, youll notice a job called geomancer which would make conjurer a nuker/debuff.
So, you don't want things to be boring and generic, but you request that everything should be a FFXI rehash? You sir, are a logical genius.Does anybody, besides me, still think this Armoury System is gonna end up being SE's Achilles' Heel?
They've worked it, and reworked it, from DAY ONE....and it is STILL an abomination. I mean...what the heck is supposed to set me apart from every other 50 WHM, WAR, and PLD....my armor choices? (unlikely, since every time new gear comes out, it's so easy to get)
So, is it my sub class? (nope...those are PRE-DETERMINED). Where is the versatility? Where is the DRG subbing "whm" so his wyvern can healing breath....Where is the SAM subbing DNC, so he can solo a damn Sky God lol....where is the thf subbing war for berserk, and so on....
What is it going to take for SE to realize that no1 wants to be a carbon frekin copy of everyone else with their job...a handful of actions that anybody can simply swap onto, is NOT helping the situation.
AND PLEASE.....do not give me that whole "that's what classes are for" spiel. Classes perfectly epitomize the terms "BORING and GENERIC."
Yeah, I think a lot of the issues of being like "Ughhh everyone else is the same as everyone else" would probably be fixed with a wide variety of jobs to play, allowing for everyone to find their specific niche.I have to agree that everyone is the same, but thats kinda the point. Its a game, and every game functions the same for everyone, no exceptions. Now if we want to see diversity, we can read my job speculation guide and support it because there are 11 classes and 33 jobs in that guide which enough to make any player feel unique enough. Besides xi had what 20 jobs that everyone subbed the same shit on? Yeah real unique.
Or they just do what they did with SCH in XI. When it was released people considered it a gimp RDM for a very specific reason, it played exactly like a RDM without solid WHM/BLM spells to use or refresh or haste or anything significant beyond weather and storm spells.
They adjusted it and it's now a powerful healer, nuker or support (you can't do all 3) and an excellent crowd controller, due to being able to turn most control spells into AoE thanks to Manifestation. So working with what they have now they can 'separate' things further which they already started to with Traits and skill selection, but as we go we'll get more spells/abilities and when new jobs come out hopefully the community will stop running with a one track mind since even if they release RDM or SMN, people will still stack BLM and BRDs if they can.
So throwing more jobs won't solve much compared to working with what they have now to try to rectify some of the problems preset and sorry to say but the original intent of the system is why it's not easy for them to balance things properly, because they tried to give us too much freedom which people like but is precisely why other mmo developers strayed away from it outside of a talent tree.
OP, if you don't like jobs, then just use classes.
Sure. Let's go back to setting your own attribute points to be a special snowflake which has no role in group efforts, eliminating the past 2 years worth of adjustment to the game.
I think you guys killed him because I don't see his trolling posts anymore. :P
