As a longtime MMO gamer, I have tried everything subscription-based in the last 25 years and many free MMORPG games, with one of the best free and overlooked ones being Age of Wushu.

After suffering through 1.0, waiting for rerelease, and then capping everything at 50 within a month... SE has learned a great deal. Long ago are the days of terrible GM situations where a GM in FFXI abuses power and warps players around boss mobs for giggles. Unfortunately, the much-loved social atmosphere in FFOnline continues to suffer as SE continues to lean toward solo players, "accessible" mode, and the great wowhead migration of toxic personalities. Through FFXIV, we have experienced many ages, including the good patches, the lousy job changes, terrible drop rates to now overly simplistic, and the current topic of an ugly housing situation.
Apartments were a fantastic addition, and I constantly throw money at friends to give them a chance at the decorating game. Crafting items to bring a smile to others and giving them a new avenue to enjoy the game brings a smile to my face, and yet SE continues to play disgusting games with the housing system. It was three years ago when I took a short break, and SE stole my home and all items within. Since then, SE has altered the situation to warn players of demolition and give back a percentage of what gets taken. However, is that what makes gamers happy, or is that simply an eggplant moves on the part of SE?
There's little excuse for limiting the number of plots on a server below the population limit and not to mention demo/stealing a subscriber's assets. Sure, some argue stealing is not real when timers and agreements are made, but then there are some greedy who take entire wards, but for the most part, everyone wants an opportunity for a single house to play with. Heck, we are not even asking for massive castles to PVP, as some lean toward, but rather the option to spend hard-earned currency on a spot that will not be taken from us or limited by "luck" lottery systems? Any developer with half a brain would see this as an eggplant move and understand the frustration of the subscribers confused by the system.
Was today's maintenance confusing?
Is the lottery change a fair implementation?
Is a demo necessary?
Is demo theft?
Should a limit be enforced on the number of houses per account?
Should we have more wards to fix the problem?
Should there be home invasions?
Should I name change?
PS- I keep a small for myself and upgraded my FC house shared with thirty members to a medium a couple of years ago. Most are daily gamers and are lovely 20-50-year-olds. My other FC is all 40+ gamers with one old fart at 67. We ask for common sense, not stupid limits for a subscription game. Make the payers happy, not limit their options and steal from them.
