They lie. They say something cannot be done and then some modder goes and proves it can be done. I never want to hear from a dev, 'that is not possibe'.

It is possible. They just do not want to devote the time and resources to it. Which is fine! That is entirely their decision to make. But I refuse to sit and smile while they lie to my face repeatedly.

The housing system is bad. They need to add instanced housing. They CAN do it. They may not think it is worth the effort. It may conflict with what they want housing to be. That does not change the fact that it can be done.

So let's come together as a community and force the issue. Direct our anger not at each other but at a system that is so very very very bad and entirely unnecessary.

If they add instanced housing will it be an inferior version of housing? Or are they going to make all housing instanced and remove neighborhoods?
If they're going to release an inferior version of housing with most features stripped out just to make it instanced they can keep their house then. I'm fine with going for a small house, but having one that is objectively worse or harder to access than a neighborhood house is a nonstarter. You can already see that Apartments are not well liked at all for events or visiting other players, what would make an instanced house any different if there's a non-instanced version that's objectively superior to it? Why would anyone take that except as a shitty consolation prize until they can get a real house?

You can’t apply by saying “Well ESO GW had this & that”. Discard yourself away with that though, otherwise forevermore torment yourself by not getting what you sought for.

On the other hand, apartments/FC rooms should be improvise upon expanding the room area, increase items limit past 100, option to add roommate aking to housing tenant, and/or add another room for purchase optionally.

This might drive players to shift their interests for apartments/FC rooms aside from housing

If everyone can get their own personal instanced island (which is cool but nobody asked for it as far as I'm aware), then the devs most certainly could have introduced instanced houses.

I'm not sure why people feel that instanced houses would necessitate taking something away. They can leave the neighbourhoods as they are for the people that like them. It would just be nice to be offered a choice, especially now personal houses are limited to a small proportion of the wards.

The option of an instanced house would be a great addition to the game. There are not enough medium and large houses to meet demand. If they went for instanced then everyone could have the size they want, and probably have more items in the outside space.

The ward system is deeply flawed. Outside furnishing limits are tiny and there are a lot of unattractive plots. So many houses look straight into their neighbour's yard, some waterfront houses in Shirogane even face away from the water and the nice view across the bay. These issues are replicated across all the areas. There are a handful of really nice plots but far too many are badly positioned either with a poor view or well away from amenities. The only reason this isn't brought up more is because supply is so short; people are just grateful to get a house, any house.

I am not advocating that wards should be removed, but housing could be done much better. With instanced everyone could have a nice view and everyone could be close to the MB and the Bell. The ward system alone is never going to be able to meet demand on the busier worlds, an instanced system running alongside would be an elegant and practical solution to the shortage.

Only because they had given up all hope of getting a house. The issue here is the short supply of houses, which had the knock-on effect of limiting the supply of gardens and FC workshops.

Housing already instanced what are you talking about, you need to load when getting in all kind of houses. Wards also instanced. Apartment also instanced. In fact Server and World also one big instanced lmao.

I think what you want is free house for everyone.

I get that SE wants to foster "community" and that a lot of the playerbase does in fact enjoy this, but I think it could have been done a lot better.

I think a win win would be to keep the wards as is, but also institute a solo instanced version of a house (Like Rift and SWToR have...and I am sure there are many others). I would love to be able to buy a house for my FC/self of any size I want so that I can get the benefit of gardening and non cluttered decorating. It hurts no-one as if you want to showcase your home then you can hope to the RNG that you win a house in the "shared" wards, but if you are cursed with bad luck then you can still enjoy a feature of the game that SE very poorly thought out.
