It's amusing how people act like having an in-game parser would cause people to discriminate in party finder. There is some key evidence as to why this is a load of nonsense.

1) We already have a parser, and it's been in use literally since ARR, and hasn't really caused any issues.
2) We have an example of an MMO with widespread meters in WoW. Over there, people don't discriminate based on DPS meters for recruitment. Instead, they used either a. have you already cleared the content and have the achievement or b. is your item level high enough. Which leads to...
3) Party finder can already discriminate based on a and b via Duty Completed and Item Level requirements.

Mmmnope. If you're looking for an M+ group, people will look at raw item level or RaiderIO Score (aka "have you completed the content") and for raids it'll be again raw item level or achievements for having done the raid before.

1. Shrink your UI down if it's crowding your screen. Even the default UI need not be "crowded". You can, for instance, toggle many elements' visibility via a simple button-press. On my screen at any given point in combat I have just my target, party list, enemy list, minimap, job gauge, and 3 hotbars. They take up a scant few percent of my overall screen space. If your UI is crowded, that is entirely on you.
   
   
2. An easily readable damage meter can take up as little as 4k pixels (fewer if you've better eyesight or sit nearer your screen). For context, 4k pixels would be about 0.0008% (yes, less than a thousandth of a percent) of my total screen-space.
