PF is the way it is, if you don't like it then get a static or don't raid that week. If you don't have a lot of time then you can just play when you have time, you don't have to clear everything immediately, you get almost 8 months between a savage tier coming out and an echo being put on it, and even then you can still beat it with echo enabled after that.Sometimes static members have to miss a week due to real life, maybe multiple ones at once if some of your group is family. On those weeks your options are to fill in with people you know who may or not be available (or already cleared that week for savage) or use party finder.
Some people are adults with busy lives and only have a few hours to devote to raid each week, why should their time be wasted by players who can't provide the minimum required damage to clear a fight without mechanics when a tool exists in game to measure that.
You aren't entitled to try to control other players in an MMO, if you want that level of control get a static or learn to accept PF the way it is now. Get that idea out of your head, just like DPS meters and requiring addons to play high end content. It will never be that way from the mouth of the director of the game. Absolutely not, never ever. If you're unhappy about this I'd invite you to pick up any other MMO that's more tolerant of your behavior.
This would be good.Honestly SSS could be useful, if when you complete it on a job it flags that you completed it. Then party finder could lock duties to only people who have cleared the SSS dummy for the fight. There are some issues with tuning for the SSS dummies, but it would be a huge start to just be able to filter out players who are not capable of doing the damage needed to clear the fight even without mechanics.
In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

Or maybe they could add more filters to PF like I recommended to setup a group with the playstyle you want to play with. You can already filter out by duty completion and lock jobs. What is one more filter that someone has to complete a 3 minute test in game to enter a group who requires it?PF is the way it is, if you don't like it then get a static or don't raid that week. Just as much as I am not entitled to control other players, other players are not entitled to waste other players time by signing up for things expecting a carry.
I'm just letting you know why this is never going to happen, you can ask all you want but the developers have given a strong "No" to this type of content ever being in the game whenever they have been asked, and believe me, they have been asked this question a lot. There will never be a DPS meter in-game and there will never be any way to filter or require certain DPS checks in PF to join. Those only create toxicity. If you want that level of control then play with friends or make a static.Or maybe they could add more filters to PF like I recommended to setup a group with the playstyle you want to play with. Ironically it's the game design itself thay creates the toxicity. If fights did not have hard enrages then people would care less about DPS. It's hard to say not filter by not making a DPS check when the content itself is designed around a DPS check.I'm just letting you know why this is never going to happen, you can ask all you want but the developers have given a strong "No" to this type of content ever being in the game whenever they have been asked, and believe me, they have been asked this question a lot. I've played MMOs that did not have hard enrages, and the focus on DPS was much less than it is here, a game where DPS determines if you can clear the content.
Basically if Yoshi-p thinks measuring DPS creates toxicity, then they should take a long look in the mirror at their encounter design.
I’ve played MMOs since EQ in 2001 and NEVER has it been needed. Only reason is for those who min/max or for raids to be the first on a server.
If the mob dies before the enrage, you won. You did the DPS needed.
Please stop wasting my brain cells. They can prevent wide-spread bullying by blocking any demands for parse logs being added in game. it's literally that simple.
If you actually think it's not a toxicity thing, then you're even more Naïve than i thought. You need only look at games like WoW and ESO where parse logs are prevalent to see the amount of toxicity and bullying that it invites.
The only reason most of the people asking for parses want logs specifically for DPS. you know darn well that if they added parses without DPS checks, these same people would piss and moan about it because they only want parses so they can gatekeep endgame content and block less skilled players from completing content.
You barely even responded to anything I was saying. Which isn't surprising but I wasn't really talking to you beyond the first paragraph anyways.
90% of your posts are just
"It is absolutely X." --> proceeds to provide zero logical reasoning why.
Like:
"The only reason most of the people asking for parses want logs specifically for DPS. you know darn well that if they added parses without DPS checks, these same people would piss and moan about it because they only want parses so they can gatekeep endgame content and block less skilled players from completing content."
Ok? How do you know? Zero evidence, zero logical reasoning. Just "you know darn well, trust me bro".
How do you know most of the people asking for parses want logs specifically for DPS? Where is the evidence for that? Or reasoning why most people would do so?
And what the hell is a parse without "DPS checks"? Lol?
Or:
"They can prevent wide-spread bullying by blocking any demands for parse logs being added in game. it's literally that simple."
How? Did you not read what everyone is writing?
Honestly idk why I bother with idiots on this forum.

So this essentially comes down to "we won't do it because people will harass others".
let me tell you a story. Long ago, I was playing WoW. I was an elemental Tauren shaman. I had fun, and every time I went into the harder dungeons we cleared. Not mythic, not even raid, just endgame dungeons. We cleared and we had a good time.
Now, I ended up in a group who were doing consequtive runs. My only stake in the affair was coz I enjoyed it. Yet I got booted for the simple reason of not having high enough dps. So yes, there is weight to what Yoship says. Nobody knows if you use ACT, but if you go after somebody who does sufficient but not top dps and harass that somebody then you are doing something wrong and deserve the consequences. Use it for personal improvement and worry about yourself, not others, and you will be fine.
