yeah but the idea is, at some point its imune to just about each attack at one point that way if you stack, your whole team will be worthless when its immune to your attacks!

Yeah. Basically if it receives more than x amount of damage from Thunder magic it'll flat out resist or absorb it either for the duration of the battle or for long enough that stacking will kill your run in the end.
Makes me think of one of my favorite bosses from FFVI.
oh yeah, i got that too.. i think there is possibility to make two bosses out of both ideas.

The way Garuda is now, is the middle ground. If you stack all BLM to burn Garuda, you will wipe becuase Suprana gonna blow or plumes are gonna blow and kill your tank. If you stack all melee to kill plumes quick you're gonna wipe cos Chirada is gonna blow. Don't get me wrong I think it's an interesting concept but it also FORCES a group to have 1 of each damage type (h2h/sword/polearm etc.), with a low pop MMO getting the tank and healer can be a chore enough as it is, what is a group gonna do if they have 8 players but no MNK for h2h damage?
You need to have an element of flexibility to accommodate and open up the content for as many people as possible. SE aren't really doing that now (until post 1.22a Garuda at least) but fixing tight rules isn't going to help either. I suppose you could argue that FFXIV allows for multiple jobs on one character, so surely you'll be able to fill each role and that might be true, but you're still forcing someone to play on a job they might not like to complete content in the same way DH speed runs forced people to play archer etc. it's the same thing.
I dunno, I'm arguing for no reason here, I too hope we can get more diverse and interesting boss fights in 2.0, don't get me wrong, just going the opposite direction as a knee jerk reaction doesn't make for better content either.
Its stupid easy to level in this game, everyone has a few of these jobs and some people have ALL of them. I don't think anyone will have a hard time building a party of one of each.. although thats not quite what i was suggesting but i guess could work too.The way Garuda is now, is the middle ground. Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means
