    Chainsaw shouldn't have a 3% chance to instant kill

    There are currently two sources of RNG baked into job actions -

    One is Astrologian's Draw, which grants either 10% damage, 2500 MP, or increase LB gauge. Maybe you only want the Balance just like the old days, but maybe that 2500 mp will save someone, or someone's LB will pop earlier and make a play. The difference in outcomes is fine.

    The other is a 3%+ dice roll to win you the game, or at least heavily skew it when you take out 1+/5 of a team by getting lucky. It doesn't really matter if the other 97% of the time you're wasting your Analysis that would have been better used on Drill. It doesn't really matter if it's a 100% haha funny edgar reference meme skill - as long as it's possible for you to do everything right, playing ideally, and still lose because someone flipped a coin and got lucky, it shouldn't be in pvp.

    Critical hits and Direct hits aren't possible in pvp - even the small damage variance on attacks has been removed. As far as RNG goes, this is about it.

    The other two sources of instant kill effects, besides also being locked behind a limit break, at least have more reasonable methods of counter-play. Chainsaw's counter-play is... don't be unlucky? Don't have the gall to be within 25y of the MCH when they're chainsaw primed? Have a shield greater than 10k while being at near max hp? Burn your guard for a mere single skill in fear of the offchance you're targeted + Analysis gets used + it procs + they actually use it while you're guarded? It's a bit unreasonable.

    Please remove this effect.

    [I get that this is the nth post on this topic, but I'd rather +1 complaint posted for stats instead of just hoping they change it]

    There should be no instant kill mechanics on basic abilities outside Limit Breaks and those, in my opinion, should have their charge time *increased*. Nothing feels worse right now than trying to get back to crystal and LOL CHAINSAW 53k and it's like "Are you serious?".

    Hard agree, as someone who goes MCH in pvp. I'd rather it had a vuln debuff or dot or something

    Honestly in a 5v5 where a single death can sway a game so much there shouldn't be ANY instant death mechanics. LB or not. Make Sam LB do more damage and targets hit take 25% more damage or something. make Nin do massive damage to targets under 50% and if anyone hit under 50% you can get another use. However in a mode where deaths take *so long* to come back from and server tic is a real thing and makes predictions much harder instant kills should not be present.

    There shouldn't be 1 shot mechanics period.

    I had it happen to me once in all the CC games I played. Once. Anyway, the ability itself sucks. The 3% means nothing when you really need it. Rather have it dealing double dmg 50% of the time instead of insta kill 3 out of 100 hits. It's just a 10k dmg ability pretty much all the time..zz

    SAM and NIN are completely fine. You can see their LB gauge, and they both have plenty of counter-play. Don't attack into Chiten, and play defensively if the NIN is around and has LB. Chainsaw has no counterplay other than "don't be in range and don't assume the MCH is going to put Analysis on something that is more useful 97% of the time."

    Have to agree with this one Sam NIN aren’t op though have 3% is dumb it’s not world changing

    With so many aoe attacks in PvP Sam has the single strongest LB in PvP. If you even accidentally hit him your instantly dead through guard. The only counter play is for your entire team to stop attacking without them even using it. Nin is mostly fine but even if you heal and again server tic just decides its not on your side, whoops guess you're instantly dead. No other LB come even close to that amount of power. If thats what they want LB to be then fine but they need to buff every other LB to be on equal level. The point is with the way death is set up in this mode instant kill mechanics are by and large leagues more powerful than anything else.

    Stipulated that you can get screwed by server ticks, but that applies to literally dozens of things in PvP. It's just something you groan and accept if you want to participate in PvP in this game with servers worse than a game from 2004.

    But it's pretty easy to predict when the SAM will try to Odin everyone.
